I don't get Showtime and Best Buy has a shit load of Masters of Horror DVD's on sale this week. I already have the one's from season 1 I wanted and was wondering about season 2. The only Season 2 episode I saw was Valerie on the Stairs and it was shit (Mick Garris episode suprise, suprise).

The only season two eps worth getting, in order of preference, are:

    The Screwfly Solution
    Pelts
    Sounds Like
    Family
    The V Word

The first four are excellent. The fifth isn't anything new, but it's pretty entertaining, mainly due to the awesomeness of the Ironside. All of the other season two episodes are quite horrible.

Wow, I thought Screwfly Solution was one of the worst episodes in the second season.

The only two DVDs I picked up from season 2 were "The Black Cat" and "Valerie on the Stairs." I really didn't care for much of season 2 and can see why Showtime didn't renew the series.

Haven't seen them all yet but so far I liked:

    The Screwfly Solution
    Family
    The V Word

Sounds Like was also pretty well done. Just not my kind of thing.

Finally, I am not alone. That, Pro-Life and We All Scream for Ice Cream were the bottom of the barrel so far for me. The Washingtonians and The Damned Thing weren't anything to write home about either.

The ones that I have felt the need to buy are The Black Cat, Pelts, Family, and the quietly insidious Right to Die. I too liked Sounds Like and thought it was very well done, but I don't think I am going to need to ever see it again.

I still have Dream Cruise and The V Word to go.

Oh, I quite liked Right To Die. I liked most of these, in varying degrees, except for Dream Snooze.

ive bought all the episodes from season 1 and 2 released so far, and i liked THE BLACK CAT the most of season 2. Stuart Gordon gave his episode a different look than the others and also a great ending.

I bought Screwfly, Black Cat, and Right to Die. I was hoping to get the two episodes from Season 1 I need to complete the set, but the Best Buy I went to didn't have 'em.

Everything I've read indicates that season 2 was a little too humorous, so I don't see myself collecting too many episodes. But at $4.99/ep, it's worth it to pick up a couple.

This is a great sale for those of us who prefer to cherry pick the best episodes. Especially since the quality level of season 2 apparently dropped quite a bit.

I know in a few months when the box set is inevitably released, there will be a score of "Glad I waited!" posts, but I'll chime in before then with "Glad I got just the episodes I wanted for about $20"

Passed on all these today. Having nice looking dvdr's from downloads helps, but I really thought I would break down and buy a couple.
Instead I got Penny Dreadful and Unrest from the After Dark Horrorfest. I really liked Dark Ride and Gravedancers was allright. After seeing all the trailers, these were the only others I wanted except Wicked Little Things, which they did not have.:(
Kinda funny that these are cheaper new this week at BB, than used right across the street at Hollywood even after 60% off.:)

Hear ya. I remember buying a couple of MoH titles at Target for $9.99 each, then stopping at the Tower Records "going out of business" sale, everything was 30% off. At first I was kicking myself for buying the Target DVDs, until I saw that Tower was taking the discount off the LIST price of $17.99, so full price at Target was cheaper than discount at Tower. Wonder why Tower went out of business?

Oh, if they ever do release a boxset of Season 2, I'll bet there's no bonus disc. But they need to do one. And on it, they need things like the Director's Interviews and Working with a Master featurettes for the new directors on the series. Especially Tom Holland, Ernest Dickerson, Brad Anderson, and Peter Medak. But good to hold one's breath...
