New posters I've picked up. Don't Go In The Woods Alone! 27" x 41" one sheet Humanoids From The Deep 27" x 41" one sheet Phantom Of The Paradise 27" x 41" one sheet Night Of The Creeps Video Poster
I've been trying to get my hands on a Don't Go in the Woods poster for years at a reasonable price - nice job!
Hey Wago and Mutilated Prey just got lucky with the Don't Go In The Woods poster. Found it on ebay and it didn't go very high so I had to have it.
A few recent acquisitions. 99 Women (US) Attack of the Robots (Spanish) The Blood of Fu Manchu (US) Count Dracula (German) Greta, the Mad Butcher (aka Ilsa, the Wicked Warden) (Belgian) The Sadist of Notre Dame (re-cut of Exorcism) (Spanish) [I love how they "used" the knife and hand from the Halloween poster! Franco and Carpenter together on one poster!] The Toxic Avenger (French doormat) Zombie Lake (Belgian)
After an exhausting, weekend long inventory of my posters in plastic tubes I found this which had been misplaced and I feared had become lost after four apartment moves: and the best part is this list of long gone movie houses at the bottom:
Oooh. That listing of theaters at the bottom is bad-ass. Get that thing framed, pronto. Find a good framing shop, and they'll minimize those folds. I have a folded Repo Man poster but you can only see the fold lines if you get really close up
Army of Darkness, Evil Dead 2 Limited Edition poster of 22/200, 2 separate Friday The 13th posters still sealed, and a signed Evil Dead remake poster, signed by Bruce Campbell. It was from the Ultimate Evil Dead contest a little over 1 1/2 years ago, and they loved my submission, and they said that they have something like a thank you for my submission. Right now it's still in the mailing tube. I will post pictures once they are framed.
That is good advice - thing is, I'm thinking of sending it back to my parents house in Reno and placing my best posters in a fire-resistant safe for the time being. We had an earthquake in SF area last month and lemme tell ya - the epicenter was far away but my building moved a little too much. I don't wanna lose my favorites if/when a larger one hits. I did the inventory for that reason - and I'm shocked at how well my posters from the early 80's held up compared to some of the ones you see on Ebay from the same era. Not sure if I posted this one already:
I'll have to get some pictures up, but I recently got two back from the framer: House of Whipcord, and Triple Irons. Triple Irons is a Shaw Bros. kung-fu flick from the 70s that is more commonly known as The New One-Armed Swordsman. What was interesting is that I found them at Comic-Con in July, and they were originals. I thought they were reprints, because they were in mint condition, and there were several copies of each movie (and several other movies as well), and just $10 each. But the guy told me they bought a warehouse and there were stacks of posters that never got sent out. So, $20 later (and $129 in framing costs!), I have these vintage 70s posters.
I have always loved John Russo's Midnight. Despite it's many flaws, there's just something about it. I certainly prefer the film over the crowded with too many characters book...an exact film version of that, I doubt I would enjoy. I own my favorite of the original theatrical posters (character montage painting with exploding van). Several years ago from John Russo, I acquired an original Vidmark video poster and counter standee. The sickle (sp?) is the original used in the film by Nancy to kill Cynthia in the toolshed. My only actual film prop. Just had to share!
^That is awesome! I too love that flick. I have a couple of the original one-sheets. I agree, there's something about it that very compelling and fun. It just has the right formula.
Wow. Those look really sharp. Glad to see them being properly displayed rather than sitting in a box in a closet. Thanks for sharing those.
