You had me at Scare Me.

Love that we are getting a next feature from Ruben so quickly.

I watched the trailer expecting to see werewolves. Seems like a pass to me from the trailer. Post reviews if it's worth a watch.

Maybe for once, a trailer doesn't spoil the monster.

Eh, werewolves and budget horror don't usually lead to good costumes for the monsters.

Dog Soldiers was one of those rare ones. But that one had a lot of talented people in the crew, that could stretch the small budget.

But still, I like trailers that don't show the monster.

Ok, so this is a full blown comedy. Could be worth a one time watch but the trailer didn't really do it for me if I'm being honest.

While this was a comedy it was done right. The film is well paced and there are several red herrings thrown in. I wasn't able to guess who the werewolf was until it was revealed. Also Milana Vayntrub is very easy on the eyes. I didn't realize she made films. The movie is rated R and there is violence along with a fast 97 minute run time.

I also bet you didn't know she always stands behind something in her commercials on purpose.

After the terrific Scare Me, I might say that I was less than impressed here. I thought it was pretty mild and tepid stuff. The characters all have their stereotype, there's the gay couple, the Karen, etc, yet everyone looked and sounded the same and weren't made distinct through the writing, so no one really stood out. The motive that would make them all red herrings is the same for every character: the pipeline project. There was really nothing to drive the whodunit here. If you're expecting any sort of creature violence, this isn't your movie. You don't get much of the creature on camera until the reveal at the end, and the kills are mostly bloodless. It felt like they were making a children's movie, which maybe they were as I'm unfamiliar with the game? This is a PG-13 at most.

I will say that it used 90s music better than the 90s set Fear Street released on the same day. Interestingly, of last week's new genre releases, the one I was least looking forward to (Till Death) turned out to be the best of the bunch. Go figure.

If you want a good winter set werewolf movie, check out last year's The Wolf Of Snow Hollow instead. And if you missed it, check out the previous movie by Josh Ruben Scare Me as well. As for this one... wait until it's free on a streaming service, if at all.

If you are referring to the Megan Fox flick I liked it less than either Fear Street or Werewolves Within. It was a 20 minute idea that was padded out to nearly 90 minutes.

I watched this last night. I really enjoyed the first twenty minutes or so, but then it becomes Knives Out and lost my interest.

There's a reason they're hiding the werewolf. The makeup in Teen Wolf Too is better.
