Is that sale still going on? I was planning on making an order but then forgot about it once the proverbial shit hit the fan re Coronavirus and forgot all about it.
Oh, and I finally got an email last week or so saying that it shipped on the 18th. I’m still waiting for it along with an amazon.uk order for the Network edition of The Monster Club.

Rode; Audio Commentary by Scott MacQueen, head of preservation, UCLA Film & Television Archive; Restoration Featurette *Also Available on DVD!* Bodies are mysteriously disappearing all over town, and a new wax museum has just opened. Is there a connection? But of course! In this horror classic, Fay Wray (King Kong) stars as the intended next victim of a mad wax sculptor obsessed with her resemblance to one of his prior creations. Glenda Farrell plays a quintessential wisecracking newspaper reporter, and noted actor Lionel Atwill is the deranged artist who loses his studio to a fire set by his partner. Filmed in the early Two-Color Technicolor® process, The Mystery of the Wax Museum was considered a lost film for decades, until a well-worn print was discovered nearly 50 years ago. Thanks to the meticulous new restoration presented on this disc, the film can now be experienced as intended. https://www.facebook.com/warnerarchive/photos/a.275238161562/10158433000226563/?type=3&theater
Very excited to see Wax Museum. By all accounts the restoration is stunning. Hopefully Dr. X isn't far behind.

Dr. X's restoration is almost complete. I listened to a podcast earlier with one of the guys who worked on the Wax Museum and he has indicated as such. Not sure when WB will put it on blu, but I suspect it will be within a year's time, especially if Wax does very well (which I suspect it will).

The 4 for $44 sale is back and Mystery of the Wax Museum is included. https://www.wbshop.com/collections/warner-archive-4-for-44
Wow, this is unprecedented from WB isn't it? Two aspect ratios! I know the UK included it but I was not expecting WB to. And an Archive release too. Svengoolie showed an old transfer recently so I had doubts we'd be getting this so soon. It'll be interesting to read reviews as Dracula was polarizing.
3 ratios it sounds like. 1.85:1, 1.66:1, and the "open-matte" format on the bonus disc. I have the UK Icon Blu-ray already, but this sounds like it should top it. It's probably worth keeping for its extras though.
Source: 4k Recombine of Separation Masters Scan: 4k 16bit at MPI It may be a little unfair of a comparison as they're showing the original scans, not recent exhibition transfers, but of course we can't expect WB to slam Hammer's efforts. But while it looks great I can't say it's knock your socks off great; which can be only expected as we're a few too many generations removed from the original negatives. Robert Harris commented on the unmatted full frame and his own opinion of the samples of the restoration efforts he's seen: https://www.hometheaterforum.com/co...frankenstein-1957-blu-ray.369681/post-4927115 It is interesting how the shots were heavily cropped in any theatrical ratio; especially the matte paintings which are typically your best guides (you don't pay someone to paint something the audience won't see). Without any technical expertise in these manner I wonder if the elements we have now were zoomed in as we do not have the original elements. The live action footage does not look all that off cropped so I wonder what truly happened in these shots that ARE clearly off.
How long does it take to send out their discs? It’s been like two weeks since I ordered and I haven’t heard jack.
Their DVDs are, but their blu-rays are pressed. They just do smaller pressings. My order was entirely blus.
