See for me Scanners 2 feels like a daytime TV movie rather than a good Scanners sequel. I don't like it.
3 was all over the place but felt more enjoyably camp from memory. I'd need to revisit it again.
None of them come close to the first though. I just want a 4k of that.

I hope we get proper color correction on a future 4K release. The Criterion transfer had really fucked up colors.
Best one was the early german release, before they went crazy with teal and contrast boosting on later blu-rays.

I would love to have a release from Arrow.

Yeah I've heard the Criterion release doesn't actually look that good. I was surprised to hear that. I do hope someone will give it a nice new release soon.

I added Rest in Pieces, and the 4 Amityville releases to my order. I finally made peace with the fact that I missed out on the Amityville Cursed Collection.

And now I've added Zombie 5: Killing Birds. I need this sale to end ASAP so I can stop buying stuff.

Dave, there's no point in making the money if you can't have fun spending it.

I love VS but I'm on a bit of dry spell with them. I want to like the releases, but there's only so many beautifully scanned, impeccably packaged terrible movies I need to spend money on.

Having said that - I always feel like if they could just get their hands on some of those in need of attention, I 'd be all theirs again.

Yeah, I hear ya. Most of my purchases are either catalog titles, or recent releases that have gotten good write-ups. Pre-orders and the like? Forget it. I'll get those next sale, after I've had time to think about it.

It's fun. Very 90s. Maybe lite on horror, but it's quirky and fast-paced.

I made one final order before it ends later tonight:

    Limbo "Slipcover"

    Tammy and the T-Rex 4K UHD/Blu-ray

Okay, so why am I now purchasing the standard edition of Tammy? Because I literally forgot to upgrade to it for the extra $10 when it originally came out, and I always kicked myself for that.

I'll just switch my old Blu-ray "Slipcover" of Tammy (they were identical Slips for both formats) with this standard one and sell the old Blu-ray/DVD Combo. I don't think I'll find the 4K release for less than the $25 now, for new at least.

I have always enjoyed it, and you can't beat Christopher Walken appearing in the film. I actually sold off my old DVD on ebay not long ago for a decent profit.

Stopped with just the two orders I listed. I might have gotten more, but jackass here spent all Saturday and Sunday waxing his car and listening to the radio. By Sunday night, the battery was dead so today it was a $170 trip to the auto parts store.

I don't know what the hell Jackie is doing there, or why you chose to post it in response to something I said, and frankly, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

Watched Six-String Samurai over the weekend. Not really a fan and even though the VSU packaging is quite wonderful, not a film I'd spend so much on. Now if it was on sale and I was in a spending mood, I might be tempted. But with the current VSU pricing structure I'm fine not being a completionist about the line.

With the subscriber coupons, I buy pretty much everything non-adult in the Vinegar Syndrome line (VSA, VSU, etc). Six-String Samurai is the first title I've passed on since they started branching into VSA / VSU.

That's where I was a few years back. Mind you, a lot of the movies I love would be deemed terrible by many, but Vinegar Syndrome seemed to be on a streak of terrible movies I didn't want. That said, over the last twelve months, the last year alone Vinegar Syndrome has put out a lot of titles I enjoy having in my collection. Both stuff that's been on my wish list, like Action U.S.A., The Severed Arm, Beyond Dreams Door, Ladrones de tumbas, and Cementerio del terror, as well as pleasant surprises like Whodunit? and The Cellar. I guess it depends on your taste in terrible. :D Of course, I'm not a completionist, and there are still plenty of releases I give a miss.

Btw., as a slasher fan, their tentative release schedule for July - November makes me optimistic:
