They added a $110, so for $10 more you get that perk. Not bad. I went for it.
Still no word on the title?
Not that I've seen.
For getting 4 titles of your choice a year of streaming it definitely felt like a deal regardless of what the other titles are.
I have no interest in the streaming, and I have already picked up all the VS titles that I've wanted to far.
My only interest is in the mystery blu.
They have said that about a fifth of the 250 movies they'll be prepping for streaming won't be available on DVD.
I put in my contribution last week. The mystery Blu is supposed to be even wilder than Raw Force was.
A couple new hints...
Beyond Evil? Haunts? Wendigo?
Could be anything really.
That's gonna be tough to figure out - VS has only released a handful of "mainstream" titles with the rest being sexploitation stuff nobody's ever heard of. Digging a little (well, looking at imdb listings, really) I was trying to find other material by some of the directors of the mainstream stuff they've released. I came up with Herb Freed (Graduation Day) for 3 possible 80's titles: Beyond Evil, Haunts and Survival Game. Never heard of any of them but I think they fit the bill.
I think we can rule those out. They previously stated it was an often requested title, and that it was even weirder than Raw Force.
I'm betting it's some Cirio H. Santiago title...of which there are many. VG released Death Force / Vampire Hookers on DVD previously.
"whose work" could also mean a producer or an actor...
...and that's the thing. The clues are just so vague that the film could be nearly anything.
I honestly don't get the intense secrecy regarding the whole matter really. Do they think the mystery will sell more, or revealing the title will curb off the interest?
Not revealing it has the exact opposite effect for me. Tell me what the title is now so that some momentum can be built if it's something I really want. Wait til later and it's something meh I'm going to bitch about how meh it is on internet forums All jokes aside, I think the title teasing is all childish and unnecessary. I feel the same way about those Criterion posters with "clues" for upcoming stuff.
As for the mystery VS title, I was hoping it was Blood Beach. There was a Jeffrey Bloom film released on DVD about a year ago which I thought was through Vinegar Syndrome but it was actually Scorpion that released it (Dogpound Shuffle). The guessing game continues then.
I never did get around to ordering one of these subscriptions, mainly because money is usually tight for me at this time of year, but also my interest in collecting movies has taken a back seat to my interest in vinyl. In fact, it's not even in the back seat but more like the trunk. I just plain don't have a desire to buy anything unless it's a "must have", and I'm actively trying to pare down my collection to the bare essentials. It ain't easy.
Where are they putting the hints up? It is kind of annoying to me. I made my contribution and really would like to know what title it is!
Must be a real stinker if they're too scared to reveal the title.
The 4 titles of my choice and the streaming service made it a good enough deal alone!
Well, whatever it is... it seems to be working. They've racked up nearly $76,000 thus far, 44% over their goal.
I got my contribution in the other week. I'm excited about the Len Anthony DVD at least.
...and seeing as the Blu-ray will be an exclusive perk too, if I end up and hate it, I'll just trade/sell it.
Final tally: $76,046 USD
