Is the Collector's Edition of Child's Play oop? I'm thinking of selling my edition but can't figure out what it's worth.
Yes, it's out of print. It looks like it sells used on ebay ranging anywhere from $13 to $45 or so with the Slipcover.
Damn, I didn't expect The Howling to look THIS good on UHD. It's always been a soft movie, thanks to the filters, but this was pretty damn sharp. Maybe not to the same level as Alligator, but still, stunning. Can't wait to see how Sword and the Sorcerer looks, when it drops in next week. These UHD horror releases, have really reignited my interest in collecting movies again.

I passed on Communion last time because there was nothing to get free shipping with. Fortunately it was still around (I expected it to go quicker), so I ordered that with Meatcleaver Massacre. Even with the free shipping, they're obscenely overpriced, but whatever.
I wish I had the option for free shipping over a certain price, or it was just $7 for us north of the border. $12.99 to Canada for one disc, which with the exchange rate equates to $17.06 CAD... Since I got two discs, shipping also went up $3 USD, so was $21 CAD just for shipping. Not to mention also paid 1.31 x the price for the cost of the discs themselves too.
Awesome! Meatcleaver Massacre has been on my most-wanted-on-Blu for years. It's got that weird, eerie vibe typical of so many regional 70's horror movies, and the brutality of the home invasion against the oddball anything goes supernatural revenge that follows just works for me. The tacked-on Christopher Lee bookends just add to the strangeness. Colour me excited!
This Scream Factory release is going to look & sound better than that awful quality trailer, right? Never saw the film, but that trailer is just a mess.
Bill Olsen said a few years ago that a major studio was doing a 4K restoration but ran into legal obstacles preventing a release at the time (I seem to remember it being something with the Christopher Lee footage). Assuming he was right, that would imply that there was source material available to warrant such a restoration. So yes, I would definitely expect it to look better than that soft old SD trailer.
Thanks for the information. Bill has said so many random things over the years, it's hard to keep track of everything. I am going to pick this up after all. In most cases I do go for Nightmare USA films. This movie looks pretty wild.
I got my copy of MEATCLEAVER MASSACRE, today. I'm about 25 minutes or so into THE HOLLYWOOD MEATCLEAVER MASSACRE cut, and this is looking like a surprisingly clean film element. The lack of provenance in their description led me to believe that this was going to be rough, but it's really pretty nice. The movie itself is just hitting ALL the right notes for me. SO MUCH FUN!
