So like I said? Two whole people on the planet? "I want the version with that confusing line of dialog that goes nowhere." How do you even describe that on the menu as an option? "Home video version?" Who watches those? It's not worth the production time.

It's a superfluous line of dialog that if people weren't literally comparing time codes for, or reading the opening text Shout supplied, they would never have been aware of.

If someone can explain to me why this is a negative influence on the actual plot they maybe they have something. The true test is to see if someone even bothers to edit the movie using the deleted scene to make an HD fan edit. I doubt I'll be seeing that online anytime soon.

If this were an unintended error, I have my doubts that they would have caught it early enough to author a disclaimer on the disc, but too late to include it in the film, proper. The sequence in question is fully integrated into the surrounding scene in the Deleted Scenes and appears to be of the same quality as the rest of the film. I don't get the impression it was scanned separately from the rest of the film.

    From Shout Select:

"Unfortunately we have to shift the release date of The Jerk (40th Anniversary Edition) back one month, but for a good reason. We are creating a brand new 4k transfer for our release and need a few weeks extra time to complete the restoration and coloring to assure we present the best possible version of the film.

The new street date is December 18, and pre-order is available at: http://bit.ly/Jerk40th"

Yeah but will it get re-released in 6 months with a new 4K transfer???

I’m actually serious. They just announced a new fucking steelbook of Streets of Fire with a new 4.1 track made from the original 70mm 6-track magnetic audio.

Remind me again why I should continue to buy from Shout when they re-release titles deemed “Collector’s Editions” only to go back a year later and re-release improved editions of those same titles. Seriously. Why was this not done the FIRST fucking time??

It's become beyond ridiculous now. I totally agree with you. They're trying to be sneaky for more $$$. I can just see actual UHD releases of all these released again next year.

Shout Factory ships items as they are available (at least they always have in my experience), so there's no need to create orders according to street date.

In fact, in the past, items with posters have always shipped individually, even when they're released on the same day. For instance, Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 were released on the same day, but were shipped in two separate packages. Same goes for Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2.

I received both Scream for Help and The Evil from Shout earlier today. It seems like most pre-orders are starting to arrive closer to 3 weeks earlier than the official release date.

I'm psyched to watch Scream for Help tonight. It's personally my most anticipated release of the year! :)

I watched the Scream for Help Blu-ray earlier, and the transfer is surprisingly very good...certainly a revelation compared to the old VHS tape. It doesn't state if this transfer came from the Negative or Interpositive, but it looks far better than I ever thought the movie would. I really wouldn't doubt that this came from the Negative, disproving those rumors from years back that it was lost in a vault fire.

It appears as though the sex scene is slightly cut, or edited differently and an alternate take of the scene was used for some reason. The full-frontal nudity is there, but perhaps 8-10 seconds of the scene is different than the scene on the old VHS. It doesn't seem like it was changed due to the sex/nudity, so I'm not sure what the reason is there... so you might want to hang onto your old VHS copy if you want to see the sex scene fully intact.

The Interview with Tom Holland runs at 13+ minutes, and he makes no apologies for disowning the finished film, citing it as the main reason why he insisted on "directing" Fright Night the next year.

The Interview with actor David Allen Brooks runs at 16 minutes providing some decent info... but the Audio Commentary with Justin Kerswell & Amanda Reyes really provides the best background info regarding the film.

The Theatrical Trailer (running close to 3 minutes) appears to be a brand new HD scan. It's one of the better looking trailer transfers (from the 70's/80's at least) that I've seen included on a disc in a while.

I've captured some screenshots from the Blu-ray and uploaded them here if anyone is interested:

There is a passage on the alternate back cover that specifies a 2K scan of the interpositive.

I found the brand new bluray of Straight-Jacket at a Disc Replay yesterday for $5. It must have been priced wrong, since it just came out and is going for over $20 everywhere else. This wasn’t on my radar, but for $5 I figured why not?
