Blu-Ray versions of Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason, and the Remake? Wow, so much smelly, festering garbage in one set.

They're charging us to haul out their trash. The nerve.

Looks like a last(we know it wont be the last) attempt to make a cash grab before the boxset comes out.

The back of that steel is ugly as sin. I have a couple steelbooks but they aren't a media i seek out.

Plus that mock-up is a metal pack which is the ugly version of a Steelbook. I hate the spines on those things.

Figure I throw this in here:

Get ready for the only Friday the 13th of the year on August 13th with this to-die-for collection, which includes newly remastered versions of the first four films in one of the most influential and successful horror franchises in cinematic history. This must-have set for fans of heart-stopping horror is gushing over with hours of previously released special features including slashed scenes, making-of featurettes, killer commentaries, and much, much more. The set also includes access to digital copies of all eight movies, including the “uncut” edition of the original Friday the 13th.

For the people that aren't interested in the New Line films in the series.

    August 10th 2021 release.

Yeah I saw that announcement and figured it wasn't worth mentioning. I wonder how much they pay people to throw together editions like this?

They obviously believe there is a market for it. Will the disks have all the shout factory extras?

Is the other paramount edition still in print? When I got it, it was 14 quid (about 20 dollars) I've seen the new one for 60 dollars, if I was going to choose. I know which one I'd have!

To be fair this new edition has the new transfers for 1-4. It's just priced way too high.

I’m gonna wait until all of them have been 4K remastred. Part 5-8 looks very soft in comparison to the new transfers.

    Don’t care about 7 and 8, but I still enjoy 5 and 6.

Maybe in a few years, we can finally get a UHD box of the entire franchise.
Though it might be insanely expensive...

Only recently I started to like Part 7. I always thought it was the silly one with the psychic powers. But it's a favorite now. Far more than Part 5 which I only like for the short scene with the blonde waitress and a few other scenes.

Parts 6, 7, and 8 are a good little trilogy.

Lets be honest, all the friday the 13th movies are silly, shit he should be dead so I can cope with anything else they throw in!

But from my perspective after re-watching these over the last year I find parts 5 & 8 are still terrible, I don't think I would ever re-visit these again, period. Part 7 is OK, but it really is hurt by the cuts if the gore was in place I think this would be up there, as it is, sadly not.

Now I've seen the uncut scenes for 2 I'll re-watch that see how it plays, I could never get into knowing how much was reportedly cut, now I've seen the footage I might feel different.

I still feel part 6 is my favourite it has a style and feel none of the others have and is an all round fun movie.

I find the opening minutes of Part 5 to be unwatchable. It's just in bad taste and crude with the setup. There isn't anything entertaining about it. It's one of those examples young directors can use and say they thought it was ok to film this and put it in the theater.

But Part 8 is still fun to me. It's the supernatural Jason trilogy. Who wouldn't want to be a teen on a boat with their girlfriend in the opening? I love that cheesy opening song that someone around here said they hated. It's just a fun setup with a whole class that you never really see on a big boat. It only starts to get bad when they reach "New York." But even that has fun moments. Personally, I probably would have ended the movie with the kids figuring out how to sink the boat and trap Jason on it. And have the boat never make it that far out out of Crystal Lake. They swim back or find the boat that belonged to the kids in the opening.

Part 6 probably is still my favorite though as well. It's the one I remembered most when I got back into the series.
