So, if anything bad should happen to Troll 2 what other film would be qualified to take its place?
I'd pick Quest for the Mighty Sword.
It's really Troll 2's sister in many ways... and a "goblin" even appears as a character in the film!
I always thought "Showgirls" was ok. Is anything wrong with me or what? People seem to hate it just too much. Is it really worse than "Basic Instinct"? I kinda doubt it.
I voted for "House of the Dead".
The Room. If you haven't seen it, just don't vote. Just SEE IT!
whoa whoa whoa! what is wrong with Basic Instinct? nothing, that's what!
My vote is for Slugs: The Movie. I love that movie, just a load of cheesy fun.
IMHO, alot of these films, like House of the Dead, aren't contenders for "Best Worst Movie", just "Worst Movie."
"Basic Instinct" is great. I just don't see anything THAT bad in "Showgirls". Maybe because I haven't seen it since '97-98, when it came out on VHS. I should revisit it. Or not.
Other: The perennial Thanksgiving classick, Blood Freak. Watching it every Thanksgiving season for over 20 years.
Why not the first Troll? I just watched it again the other night and it's still very bad and very bizarre. Also its Harry Potter connection and semi-star cast make it just as perplexing. I'm also leaning towards Ghoulies 3, as it came out about the same time.
I voted other. My vote would go to another Claudio Fragasso film, After Death whick is just as silly and fun as Troll 2.
Of course there are others, but I'm playing by the rules here...HOWLING II. Even the title alone, YOUR SISTER IS A WEREWOLF!, is some kind of awesome. Dare I say it, the end credit montage is more amazing than anything in TROLL 2. Cybil Danning's breasts are just that powerful.
All hail Megalodon! If more people had seen this movie, then Troll 2 wouldn't have a documentary devoted to it, cuz this would!
Pure cheesey B greatness, honorable mention to House of the Dead.
I voted for Howling II. It's been my own "best worst movie" for a long time. Cheesy FX, ridiculous werewolf sex scenes, a lunkheaded hero, some actually kinda cool music... and Ms. Danning's breasts are truly the icing on the cake. Add to that the fact that it's a sequel to a very good movie. Then add to that that it features an honest-to-God legendary actor in Sir Christopher Lee. (Not that he needs one any more, but do you think this movie is still on his resume?) This movie is bad but still very amusingly watchable.
I'm gonna pull out one probably nary a soul on this forum has ever witnessed or even heard of, but Troll 2, The Room, Things, The Wicker Man remake, Night Train to Terror, Howling II, etc. don't even come close to the soooooo bad it's a goddamn cinematic bizarro masterpiece that the film I'm talking about radiates.
The film that takes the cake is RUNAWAY NIGHTMARE (1982).
Runaway Nightmare trumps all. And I'll stand firmly behind that statement. Seek this film out any way you can and you will understand!
While Deadly Prey is close, I voted for other and went with Slumber Party Massacre II. Seriously, one of the greatest WTF masterpieces I've ever seen.
Also worth mentioning is Things
Have to go with Howling 2. I watched this for the first time this year and had such a good time taking in all the cheese. Christopher Lee rocking 80s glasses, a midget werewolf hunter, a werewolf orgy, Cybill Dannings boobs throughout the end credits, awful werewolf effects (Why did they feel the need to reenact the ending of the first movie with their terribly bad and no budget effects!?), bad acting, the list goes on and on.
Second place would go to Pieces. Bastards! Bastards! Baaaastaaaards!!
As for Slugs and The Wicker Man remake, I actually enjoy those for what they are. :nervous:
"I'm a little wired..."
If you like bad movies and you haven't seen Shark Attack 3 you're really doing yourself a grave disservice.
Night Of The Demon should be removed from that list in my opinion !
hey, i'm surprised rhett isn't rushing to the defense of the wicker man remake. if i recall, he was rather fond of that one...
but i gotta agree, Howling II would probably get my vote. while there is no way for it (or anything else i've ever seen) to equal troll 2's earnest ineptitude, it does have a whole lot of "so bad its great" going for it.
Really? Night of the Demon, not Demons.
