Lionsgate will release Train in 2009. The MPAA gave it a NC-17 rating.

Wow, looks and sounds exactly like the original!

Why even bother with the "remake"/"reimagining" claim? Why not just do an homage? Or even a rip/off? Is a remake a proper remake when it only uses the title and basic plot synopsis of the original? And they haven't even used the same title here!

Then again, it might be exactly the same, only with added torture gore and David Blaine instead of Copperfield. What do I know?

I REALLY doubt anyone would sue over something like this, so it's pretty funny that this is pegged as a remake. We'll all see it and complain at some point, though.

  4. This one might be interesting if it's done right...

I heard that this was less of a remake and more like a different film.

On Shock Till You Drop, they mentioned that another producer was interested in making a true remake to "Terror Train", but we'll see how that turns out.

The severed arm screams Land of the Dead to me.

So maybe Hostel meets Midnight Meat Train?

    I don't know.

Looks cool. Haven't seen Thora for awhile. Midnight Meat Train ruled. Bring it on.

It has Thora Birch, which is enough for me to stay clear from it. She can act about as well as someone picked from a crowd at random.

For me the movie started cool, but really would have been better as like a 45 min episode. Went on was to long, but I have seen much worse. This is nothing like Terror Train and as a matter fact I may go watch that right now.

Saw it not too long ago and it sucked hard, really hard. If Lionsgate wants to make profit off this they should retitle it Hostel 3, because it feels just like another addition to the series.

Why do people think that torture movies are scary? The only really good torture movies I've seen are Salo, and Saw 1 and 2.

Yeah, torture films really suck for the most part. Hostel was great imo, put there is just too much of it. It's actually pretty boring to watch someone getting hurt while tied down. No running, no fighting back. Boring.

We tried watching the Hamiltons the other day and I came to that conclusion. Nobody outside of France even seems to try, anymore. Ok, Nacho Cerda from Spain excluded as well. :) Oh wait, Martyrs is from France. Shit.

I got an advance copy of this and it is pretty much what you would expect, Hostel On A Train. I won't say it is a fun as Hostel, characters are pretty lame, but the production values are good and decent amount of gore. Definitely better than most direct-to-DVD releases. I will just say I am disappointed they didn't stick with the intentions of remaking Terror Train. Who would play Copperfield's character, David Blaine or Criss Angel? Ha Ha!

I was looking forward to this movie when it was a remake. Not a fan of the whole torture porn thing so...pass.
