The DAWN Ultimate Edition is head and shoulders above the others, no need to bother any other kind of ranking.

    1. Alien Quadrilogy (wow! that's all I have to say about this set)
    2. Friday The 13th – From Crystal Lake To Manhattan (Ultimate Edition 5 Disc Set)
    3. Hills Have Eyes Special Edition (2 disc)
    4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake) 2-disc New Line Platinum Edition (w metal face plate)
    5. The Amityville Horror Collection (great price and nice bonus disc)
    6. Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit

and the The Blind Dead Collection (5 Disc set), and Dawn Of The Dead (Ultimate Edition 4 Disc Set) look pretty sweet as well. If I can ever afford them, I'll pick them up.

The actual topic is misleading. Maybe a mod could change it. Is this thread for only R1 sets?

    All Regions.

    All regions.

I missed Day of the Dead (2 disc set.) That's a Great DVD.
The Fly: Collector's is also an amazing DVD release.

I was just going through the Friday the 13 set (Crystal lake 2 Manhattan) it's awesome. I like the way they fit 2 films into one disc, (wasn't to sure at first if i'd like the 2 in 1 thing but it's actually very cool.) Nice menus, and excellent package (art-casing) The extras are great too. Must Buy!

    Great choices.

I was thinking of picking up the "Chucky Collection" later on. Anyone have that one?

In that case, the Phantasm set and the Dawn of the Dead UE are two of my top choices.

I never wanted it because it doesn't include the first one.

Very True. The first Chucky is only available in Fullscreen. It's way past due for a new release with it's original widescreen ratio. :fire:

Phantasm Set (Great Release!) Phantasm Sphere : The Complete Collection (Region 2)

The Hellraiser Puzzle Box is also really good. (Region 2) Cool Packaging.

Friday The 13th would be in there, except Paramount cut too many corners and didn't give us uncut versions like they should've. I'm sure they would've had to twist too many arms for more commentaries, esp. part 1 and 4. Still pissed at Paramount for that.

EDIT - Shit, forgot this horror only. Some parts of LOTR and Casino are scary. :D

Don't have a complete list in mind, but Criterion's Videodrome seems to not have been mentioned and i think that's a fine release, also Anchor Bay's Halloween 25th Anniversary Edition...and just to be annoying, i'll also mention AB's Night of the Living Dead 30th Anniversary Edition.. :)
Also i agree that Alien discs and Hellraiser Puzzle Box are fine things indeed.
And that i seriously need to get decent versions of Dawn and Day.

PS: Also i've been happier ever since i got a hold of Texas Chain Saw Massacre SE.

mmm, you all forget one of the best releases of 2005:
    CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST 2-DISC !
The 2-DISC of Fulci's Zombi was an amazing release too.
The first 3 Hellraiser movies in UK are great editions in any format (puzzle, box set, keep case)
Alien Quadrilogy was great, as well as the 2-DISC editions.
Of course, and pretty obvious, DAWN OF THE DEAD UE is just like a wet dream. ;-)

    My favorites -

Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition
Evil Dead 2 Book of the Dead - this version looks 10 times better than the previous AB release!
    Zombi 2 (2 disc set)
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Collectors Edition
    Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Day of the Dead 2 Disc set

Still need to pick up Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Hills Have Eyes, and tons more.

I probably would put Cannibal Holocaust second, only because the anticipation for it was almost as great as the DAWN UE.
