Hallelujah!!! TICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Olive Films . . . January, I think. "TICKS (20th Anniversary Edition) - First Time on DVD and BD Special Feature: Audio Commentary with Director Tony Randel and maybe a guest star CUJO (30th Anniversary Edition) Special Feature: Brand New 2012 Audio Commentary with Director Lewis Teague"
Big fan of both films, but I'll only be getting Ticks. I already have the Lionsgate disc of Cujo with the original commentary and 3 part documentary. I'd only double dip on that one if there were more participants in the commentary. I don't need to hear 2 different solo director commentaries.
Yeah, I'm set on Cujo. Got the previous blu-ray. Ticks, I've still got on VHS and love it. Will definitely be buying that one.
Sweet! I'll be picking up both of those. I have the Lionsgate 25th ann. of Cujo on DVD only so I don't mind buying this Blu version. Plus I like that cover art better.
Nathaniel Thompson moderated the TICKS commentary track with Tony Randel and Clint Howard. Should be a good listen.
The Blu-rays are both up for pre-order at Amazon: Cujo: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A1AU702/ Ticks: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A1AU77A/ Interesting that Ticks is pricier than Cujo.
Even though I already own the Lions Gate Cujo blu ray, I'll double dip if the new release is a significant upgrade - it's a favourite. Of course, my priorities are audio/video before special features. I don't remember considering Ticks very good...
TICKS on blu! One of my few favorites from the '90s, Tony Randel's TICKS (1993) finally makes its way to blu courtesy of Olive Films! When a hillbilly pot farmer decides to use growth hormones to juice up his crop, he doesn't expect a nest of bulked-up bloodsuckers to be the end result. A group of inner-city troubled teens on a weekend retreat are soon battling these mutated parasitic arachnids in a fight to the gooey death. A last-gasp celebration of practical FX before CGI became king with a fun supporting cast including Ami Dolenz, Seth Green and Clint Howard, TICKS is probably the only chance you'll have to see The Fresh Prince's Carlton gorily explode out a giant bug. Supplements include a new commentary with director Tony Randel and star Clint Howard, moderated by Nathaniel Thompson. I can't wait. Cujo Blu-ray review: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/blu-ray_reviews_58/cujo_blu-ray.htm Unless the price drops below $5, or you're a huge fan of the film, it doesn't sound worth it if you already own the Lionsgate Blu-ray. No 5.1 audio, not even the subtitles ported over.
