Yeah, this looks like it could be surprisingly good...at least based on those 30 seconds. I usually don't even bother with SyFy crap, but I'll definitely tune in for this one.

I checked my list and I have the whole trilogy on it. I noted the second or third one because the hot tub actress from Nightmare on Elm Street 4 is in it. Maybe they will put them on demand next month.

I just sold the Slumber Party Massacre 2-3 blu ray set on eBay for $150! I was shocked. They're fun enough flicks but pretty fucking goofy. I'll check out the remake

Anyone else watch last night? I had fun. Gets a little too meta as it goes along, I would have preferred a straight-ahead driller killer thriller. Hard to complain about a fun slasher flick though. The 30 second teaser works in the movie's favor because it doesn't spoil any of the twists. The opening sequence is great, and I loved the use of the original score over the opening credits. The kills and chases were better than Halloween Kills, and I had a better time watching this movie as well.

Had a Shout Factory logo before the movie, I will definitely be picking up the eventual blu-ray. Recommended.

I DVR'd but likely will wait for the disc release as I am sure will be uncut cool to know shout factory was involved as I have the steel book of the original. Never liked the sequels though.

SyFy doesn't really edit gore, so I'd imagine the only thing you're missing by watching it on SyFy is some blurred out male nudity in a shower scene.

I thought it was fun and surprisingly pretty solid for a modern remake... especially one that aired on SyFy . I just wish more of them followed this formula with a respectful nod to the original. I'll definitely pick up the Blu-ray when they release it.

Now Part II? I hope they don't remake that, because I honestly can't see that one working as a modern remake... or if they do, please in name only and change the entire story completely around.

It was a lot of fun, and it’s so bad it’s good kind of way. I enjoyed it for what it is, it made no bones about being a self-aware schlock horror film. I will definitely pick up the Blu-ray when it comes out. I actually enjoy this more than Halloween kills, that may not be saying much To some but I was surprised that fact.

    Yeah, it was fun.
Though I expected it to be gorier, after seeing the drill to the head in the trailer.
And I didn't like that some of the kills was done off-screen, or cut away.
Maybe they didn't have a big enough budget for more gore FX.

Maybe I watched a different film to you guys because I thought this was pretty terrible. Sure it had cute girls but the story sucked and was way too basic. I found myself board through a lot of the runtime and constantly checking the time.
It didn't help that the movie was more playing for laughs than scares or anything really horror. I did appreciate it turning the genre on its head a bit but that couldn't save it.

I liked it. Funny enough. A better example of the gender reversal gag that I find is already getting overplayed. Some ok violence too. In terms of repeat viewings, I will just stick with the original.

My I.Q. dropped 3 points watching this. For me, it didn't work as horror, comedy, or satire. There wasn't any suspense or scares. Mercifully it had a short runtime. The window death scene is one of the dumbest I've seen in a long time.
