    I was disappointed with Nightmare Alley. It was interesting though that they just rereleased a black and white version of the film to the theater. I can't think of another film that did this. It was also a huge financial failure making only 10 million domestically.

    The Mist has a black-and-white version (it's on the blu-ray) that I believe had a theatrical run after the original release.

    I saw The Mist in the theater. I went with two friends and both of them walked out before it was over. That's the first I heard about a black and white release but I'm not sure if it played theatrically. I checked a few sites that said Darabont preferred the black and white version which is why he put it on the DVD/Blu-ray. Here is a quote:

    While the film's cinematic release was in color, the director has described the black-and-white print (released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2008) as his "preferred version."

    Nightmare Alley will also be on HBO and HBOMax
