    SUPERSTITION (1982). Very effective haunted house film with some brutal scenes and a downbeat ending.

    Love Ghosthouse, good call on that one.

    House of Voices (2004)

    A haunted orphanage, 1950s setting and Catriona MacColl has a bit part. Stylish and oozing with atmosphere but also kind of slow moving. I did enjoy this though.

    I watched it again two Halloween's ago,it still holds up.Scott is great in it.

    For a good time, check out a rotten Andy Milligan flick from the 80's called Carnage on a night after you've knocked back a few. (Not the new Roman Polanski flick.) An extremely unsexy couple moves into a haunted mansion. Carnage ensues! Awful acting, special effects, and lighting.

    Yes,saw it on TV when it premiered.
    What was the one,I think Dennis Weaver was in it,where a pizza cutter rolled up the handrail of a staircase ? Anybody recall this ?

    It's the one where the indoor pool's water heats up to boiling, someone falls in and is spit out directly at the camera. That scared the hell out of me as a kid.

    I just watched This House Possessed last week! There are also scenes with a bloody shower and a breathing fireplace. This movie scared me as a kid, too. The house was SO COOL for its time (early 80's). I wish I could find some information about the filming location.

    I watched The Nesting this weekend on Netflix and thought it was pretty good and atmospheric. I've never heard of the film prior to Blue Underground releasing it, but I think it's a worthy gem in the haunted house sub-genre.

    Be thankful you didn't hunt it down on VHS. My copy is so dark and horrid I could barely tell what the hell was going on. Having watched it, I'm still not sure what happened! :confused: It's got me so intrigued I will definately be checking out the BU blu some day.

    Has anyone ever seen Ghost Story from 1974? I can't recall ever seeing it, but it looks interesting. The UK apparently has a nice 2-disc DVD release.

    When I read 'Ghost Story' I immediately thought of Peter Straub and the film adaptation with Fred Astaire, completely different film but this one does sound very interesting.

    Haunted house is the best movie.i Like horror movies......

    Basically, the filmmakers have added subliminal messages in the movie
