The Matrix is one of my favorite films and I'm glad to see several returning cast members from the earlier movies.

John Wick has entered the Matrix :D

The story looks pretty interesting, and I hope it's more like the first one, than the sequels.

From the looks of the trailer, it is going to be almost a shot for shot remake. I am very not interested.

I'll pass on the trailer. The first Matrix was good. I talked about them around here somewhere. It's only one of the Matrix brothers now sisters working on this one.

I wasn't too fond of final movie. Remember though The Matrix might be never ending as mentioned by The Architect in the second movie. The machines destroyed and repopulated Zion multiple times. And the humans could be clones. I did find it funny that someone on another forum posted that the machines could have just used cows. Or really any other animal for that matter.

I'll give it a rent. The first one was an absolute classic--the other two were awful imitations, to me. If you guys start raving about the new one, I'll change my mind, but I seriously doubt it.

Even the first movie has its flaws. It was just when they tried to up the first one when things started to break down. I did like the twist in the second one. Also the chase is still one of the best in movies.

A good Matrix double feature would be the original movie and The Animatrix. Some really good episodes are in there. I believe it touches on some horror elements as well. I remember a favorite was that kind of haunted house episode where nature didn't work right.

You want to see bad though try that first Matrix videogame. Shocking quality and absolutely terrible.

Huh, I'll have to give it a shot. I'm not a huge cartoon fan but this doesn't sound half bad. Thanks.

The trailer looks intriguing, but it does seem like a cash grab. But no Laurence Fishburne at all?

The first movie was quite good and still holds up pretty well... but I never particularly cared much for the sequels at all.

Last time I watched the Matrix sequels I really enjoyed them and gained a new found appreciation for them. There's a lot to love and chew on.

Very much excited for this new entry which seems to be in very good hands. I saw a trailer breakdown which touched on a lot of cool moments that are easily missed in the trailer. Seems this should be a faithful continuation.

I liked all of the Matrix movies. It’s hard to improve on the original but I dug the sequels nonetheless. This however just seems like the Matrix version of Back to the Future II and III: the same movie as the first only slightly reworked.

You know The Matrix was influenced by anime / cartoons right?

Here is The Animatrix online if you don't want to find it another way.

If anyone here hasn't seen The Second Renaissance Part I & II segments of The Animatrix check that out as that's the story of how the whole Matrix conflict started. There is a shocking part in one of those episodes which I don't want to spoil.

Also, I only saw Megazone 23 recently. Another anime that was made in 1985. They said they weren't influenced by this one according to wiki but if you check Megazone 23 Part 2 around 13 minutes, you'll see an attack scene that is straight from The Matrix.

    It's pretty horrific.

Here are all three Megazone 23 parts for anyone that is interested. I don't want to spoil anymore but watch Part 1 and it will be a big revelation. Remember this was 1985.

Remember what The Architect said about The Matrix though. I haven't seen the end of Matrix 3 in a while. But I believe it was only a truce. And they will see how long that lasts.

I didn't play the online game either which I think was supposed to be an official story.

Decided I'd better brush up on these in time for the new one. I haven't seen any trailers or TV spots for it whatsoever (Warner is not marketing it well), but at this point I'll probably just avoid them and go in blind.

Anyway, I had the first one on VHS way back when and watched it a lot at the time, but probably hadn't seen it in over a decade. Watching it again last night...

Held up beautifully. I'm someone who always whines about long running times, but 2hrs 15mins felt like 45 mins.

As for the sequels, I haven't seen either since the theater and I don't remember thinking much of them. I remember the freeway sequence, Monica Bellucci's 3D orgasm, and a pre-Saw Leigh Whannell with dreadlocks in part 2. I remember absolutely nothing about part 3. Wish me luck.

You must not go to the theater very often. I've seen the trailer around 10 times already including a second trailer that played today prior to West Side Story. Really looking forward to this and hopefully won't be disappointed. The original is currently playing in the theater so I may watch it before Resurrections comes out.

It's probably been about 45 years since I saw the original West Side Story but Spielberg seems to have remade the film almost scene for scene. I recognized virtually all of the songs and it just felt like a copy to me rather than a reimagining. With that said I still thought it was enjoyable. It was certainly well filmed and for a movie that was 2 hours and 36 minutes it went by quickly. I can't say that I would watch it again but obviously the same is true of the original.

I like the original, but it's not exactly a favorite. One of the draws for me is it's age and a sense of its place in history, so the new one is obviously lacking that. I've read that the Spanish isnt subtitled. Does that apply to songs, as well? One of my favorite parts is the song America - do you recall if that was still performed in English, or is it now in Spanish?

I had heard that the film didn't have subtitles and was a bit concerned, but the vast majority of the film was English or a combination of Spanish and English. There wasn't any scene where I was wondering "what are they saying" as it was pretty obvious. The songs are English including America. If you're a fan of the original I would say give it a view.

Went and saw two films in the theater today; National Champions and The Matrix. Each of them played one of the Matrix Resurrections trailer. I've seen the original Matrix 11 times prior to today and it's one of my top 10 films. What a treat it was to see it on the big screen again. I smiled during several scenes and saw something that I hadn't noticed before. If it continues playing this week I'll probably go see it again.

When Neo is taken to see The Oracle Switch (Belinda McClory) has a see through shirt on. Not a major revelation but just something I hadn't noticed before.
