^ Wow, those caps are gorgeous! Love the grain!

I own the Sony DVD, and while I do enjoy the film and would love to own the blu-ray, I don't think I watch it enough to justify upgrading.

I'd like to get rid of the Sony DVD simply because it has that godawful turd of a film on the flip side of the disc.

But of course I'd keep the old AB DVD for The Devonsville Terror.

The HD transfer (1080p) looks very nice indeed — details are sharp and the colors are rich. The rear cover proclaims it's sourced from the original negative, and I really can't doubt that. It's easily superior to the old Anchor Bay & Sony DVD releases.

The English audio track (Dolby Digital) has a bitrate of 384kbps. It's not lossless, but is very clear.

The audio commentary is in German only. But, the 18-minute interview with Uli Lommel is in English.

Included are the US trailer, US TV Spots, German Trailer, and also two trailers for Intruder (in English) and Alien 2 (in German).

The Stills Gallery (scanned in at full 1080) runs 91 seconds, and includes various Theatrical Posters, Lobby cards, On-set stills, and Alternate release artworks.

And then of course there's the Soundtrack CD. 12 tracks, and a bonus Raido spot that runs 90 seconds.

Truly is an amazing transfer :)

After watching the same VHS transfer reused all these years, I almost fell out of my sofa when I gave the BD a spin. I did NOT expect it too look THIS good.

Is there anywhere to get this cheaper than Diabolik's $40.49 shipped?

I can't find it on Amazon.de, and the DTM website above wants 27EUR just for the shipping alone to the US.

Really want this, but hoping for something in the $25 / $30 range.

Doubtful. A lot of German releases like this are hard to locate beyond a few places, or ebay. I paid $40 when it first came out.

DiabolikDVD is probably the most affordable you'll find, if they ever restock it.

I've never used Diabolik before. Do you know if they charge when they ship it, or right away?

Just curious. I don't want a $40 pending charge hanging on my card for months, but if it's not there until it ships, I might go for it.

They charge when they ship as far as I know, unless it says otherwise. The recent Scorpion Blu-rays were an exception...they charge for those right away.

Hm... I might go for it. I'll see what the Scorpion titles are priced when the Scorpion site opens up on Monday, as it looks like it'd be only $7 shipping for Boogeyman and the 3 Scorpion titles I want via Diabolik. Shipping is $5.50 for just Boogeyman.

    Thanks for the info, Kat.

Finally ordered this from Diabolik today. They put the Scorpion titles back up, and with shipping it was actually cheaper to order them from Diabolik than from the Scorpion storefront. Grabbed The Boogeyman, Mortuary, Sorority House Massacre, and Don't Answer The Phone, will be grabbing Island Claws and Girly from Scorpion when Stripped To Kill goes up for pre-order. Since I was planing on ordering the Scorpion titles anyway, I basically got The Boogeyman for $34.99 + .50 shipping.

Can't wait to finally get ahold of this! Love that it includes the soundtrack too. It will be especially nice to discard that Sony flipper disc. My head still hurts from watching that SOV sequel thing on the other side of the disc.

The Boogey Man looks great on Blu. I got the "shattered mirror" disc cover. I want to gamble and buy another in hopes of getting the cover with the USA one sheet art (there are 3 random covers issued).
Anyway the movie looks better than the Sony DVD.

I added a note to my Diabolik order asking for the broken window cover if available. Fingers crossed.

I just scooped the last one in stock. I've been on the fence for awhile but hey, when I see only one left I get that urge to splurge! Hoping for the one-sheet art too, but I could live with the shattered mirror cover. I'm gonna be pretty disappointed if it's the shadowy silhouette art though, that one kinds stinks...

Got it today and it's the theatrical cover. I think they did it just to spite me since I specifically requested the other, but whatever. Glad to have this and the cover isn't the important part.
