Ha Ha, When I saw Overboard I had to check to see if it was April 1st. It just seems at odds with their normal releases. But there you go.
Pretty sure the main reason Severin are releasing Overboard is it was a stipulation for a package deal they made for some future MGM-owned titles they are putting out.
They said on a podcast when they sent MGM a list of titles, they put that on there just for the heck of it. They weren't expecting MGM to say yes and were shocked when they did.
It's either this or a strategy to reel in more customers by casting a wider net. That's prolly why they started a Severin Kids line
Seems like Severin has been re-releasing plenty of Code Red and Scorpion titles lately. Just the Fulci film for me.
Yeah but it's Code Red, and a lot of the time it's super hard to acquire their releases, especially for international customers. So Retribution is pretty cool news.
I received The Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Collection today from Severin. I didn't think they delivered any mail at all on Memorial Day, but it was a nice surprise. It's a damn thick boxset. probably a good 4 inches thick. I haven't seen any reviews posted anywhere yet, but here are some images of the box and it's contents can be found here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18958566&postcount=169 https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=18958570&postcount=170
Raiders of Atlantis (1983) is coming from Severin. Also coming is an English language edition of a book on post-nuke films.
Cool. I have the Australian release, so I'll see difference before double dipping. There note about Frankenstein says to be it will be the VS 3D title for Oct/Nov.
If they don't. Have a look at the German Blu. They have the fully uncut version on the disc it's in SD but from what I remembered it plays very well. They hsve the cut version in HD and, cut scenes separate as well.
Excellent news. I haven't seen it but I saw Flesh for Frankenstein for the first time a few years ago and enjoyed it throughly. Plus Udo Kier elevates everything he's in. Apparently there's a still to be announced limited edition release to be revealed only on opening day? Some speculation it'll be The Last Shark (1981)... Au contraire, Severin has responded to conjecture that VS will be releasing Flesh for Frankenstein indecisively: So that's still be up in the air. Reportedly Morrissey fucked up while filming the 3D and shots aren't properly aligned. I doubt any distributor will touch the 3D. And Morrissey is reportedly difficult to work with in general so it may mean he's holding on for a 3D commitment. Dracula's release from Severin is a good sign though. I doubt Severin's paid through the nose. So something affordable is possible.
I'm assuming Blood for Dracula will be available at the sale next weekend? Might be the only title I buy, but I straight up love the movie.
