I second this about Fleshpot. I just stumbled on that one recently and it really was a lot more interesting than I was expecting. I loved the grindhouse look and feel of it too. It made me want to have a grindhouse movie night but I don't know many good grindhouse flicks.

I thought Nightbirds was a legitimately good film, a mostly-2-characters intimate drama in black&white.

His other Britain film, The Body Beneath, is an incredible boring shitfest.

After this set was announced, I decided I should probably take a look at the only Milligan films I own, the double feature of The Ghastly Ones and Seeds (of Evil). Despite it's incredibly low production values and technical precision, I found myself reasonably entertained throughout The Ghastly Ones - to it's credit, I was never bored. Seeds was pretty hard to make it through, though. I ended up fast-forwarding all of the sex scenes, which resulted in a viewing time of about 15 minutes. Definitely not my cup of tea, but I can see how this might be a holy grail to some.

We're still in the process of catching up with the long lead production schedule required by our new distributor MVD, but we've almost completely adjusted to the timeline now. As far as what that means for all of you, we'll be announcing our May and June titles shortly after one another. Our next box set release (slated for May and not yet even teased or hinted at up until now) will be announced this Friday and should be very exciting news for classic horror fans, and our June slate (which contains a couple of our most frequently fan-requested titles) won't be far behind. Get excited for some legendary cinemadness and we'll see you back here on Friday!

I’d love to have this, but again: It’s Severin. They can barely release one movie without some sort of fuck up and I’m supposed to throw down money for a box set this large? Ain’t gonna happen. As much as I want some of these titles, I’m waiting for Indicator.

Agreed... but it's not like I really expect anyone else to release many of these. They did do a really nice job on the Adamson set, so hopefully they'll do a good job here as well.

I went ahead and pre-ordered it. Christopher Lee (along with Peter Cushing) is one of my favorite actors, so I just can't pass this up.

    Here's the YouTube trailer:

Also, the Severin cart trick shows this currently:

Oh, I don’t know. It seems like for most of the good stuff they release there is usually a UK equivalent release not too far behind. I’ve been waiting 20 years for a good dvd/blu ray for Castle of the Living Dead and I suppose I could wait a little longer to see what else pops up.

Say what you will about Severin they know what content I want as there's no chaff in here to me (well, maybe the CD, but I appreciate those too). The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism really stood out to me last time I watched it and the transfer here looks great (as opposed to their throw away Blu-ray on the Hemisphere boxset). I'm intrigued by the Polish(?) Theatre Macabre.

No word on how limited this is but I imagine they'll print up a lot of 'em so I'll play this one by ear.

When I ordered it earlier today there were almost 1800 still showing with the Severin car trick. Now it's down to 1165 copies available.

Looks like I'll sell my Hemisphere of Horrors box set so I can finally own a decent copy of The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism. Anyone know if it's wise to pass this up and wait for stand alone releases? I don't know if Severin is prone to do that.

Generally yes. Once a boxset sells out there are follow up standard editions for each movie, besides exclusive discs, soon after. But since this boxset is not limited it's hard to say if and when single discs issues will be made. Any other release from the boxset I'm not so sure, but Dr. Sadism I'd wager will have a stand along release. Maybe even a Special Edition with something new as Severin have been known to do that too as major releases tend to shake out "shoulda coulda's" that Severin's not too proud to do follow up releases with.

If that's the case... I'm kinda hoping for UHD as Severin dips their toes into 4k but I'd give that a year or two if at all.

Oh man, I love the Strike Commando movies. We used to rent the VHS a bunch of times back in the 80:s. Hilarious Rambo rip-offs :D

I don't think I've even seen the Strike Commando movies before, but they sound just like my cup of tea.

How can you go wrong with Bruno Mattei & Claudio Fragasso. It's almost a guarantee that it's a terrible fun movie. :p

I didn't even know there was a second strike commando. I remember seeing the first online the video shop but I never rented it.

I'm interested in these but my history with Bruno Mattei is not good and I've found his films to be fucking awful quite frankly.

So there won't be any blind buys here. I might have been tempted as a double pack, but as separate releases. No.

10 years ago, the Strike Commando films would have been insta buys.

These days, I'm a bit more wary, I've worn out my love for late '80s Italian genre films a bit.

Also, seeing as they are region A locked, I assume a release by 88 Films won't take long.

No love for Hell of the Living Dead? I may be in the minority, but I am way more forgiving of that than I am of Burial Ground. I'm tempted to get at least the first Strike Commando, though part of the selling point is Reb Brown's machismo. Strike Commando 2 looks pretty bad.
