Should I be worried that Zavvi doesn’t recognize my order #? I have a confirmation e-mail.

...Maybe? Do you mean order confirmation or dispatch confirmation? Perhaps you ordered as a Guest and not under an account?

I got my "Order Dispatched" email from Zavvi on the 13th and it included a nine digit order number. They say I could have it as early as Friday but that's a bit optimistic I'm sure. And I had waited a month or more to get my Zavvi order in hoping Amazon would finally allow the US to order so I'm hardly first on the list.

Amazon.co.uk is still waiting to ship but that's to be expected as US orders came in so late.

I checked out as a guest. Got - maybe - an order confirmation #? Maybe that’s different than the dispatch #?

"Dispatch" is UK speak for shipping confirmation. I ordered using a full Zavvi account. So someone such as yourself may not have the ability to verify a Guest order unless you contact them directly.

Zavvi's a well established company so I wouldn't be too worried. I'd think you'd still get a dispatch email when it ships.

I received notification from Amazon UK that the blu-ray edition of this has shipped. Hopefully the 4K isn't far behind as I've also ordered that.

My Dawn set from Zavvi arrived today. Despite how well it was packaged, nearly every disc was loose in the case. None are scratched, thankfully, but the holders aren't exactly sturdy.

I watched the 4K Theatrical Version tonight and holy s--t does it look good! I haven't been too impressed with a lot of 4K movies as many are slight upgrades over Blu-ray, but this transfer is far and away the best I've ever seen this film. The highlight for me is the blood, which no longer looks fake, but has a darker tint to appear more graphic. Overall, this transfer is a sight to behold.

You're not the only one to comment on the blood in this restoration being less cartoony (and how much better that is). I have to wonder how accurate that is though as Romero had expressed his reasoning and satisfaction in how the blood looked through out the years over many DVD editions. And I think Tom Savini more directly addressed it as he is not a fan of the blood color but respected Romero's decision.

Does the zombie skin colour still look real weird?
Sounds like they went Synapse level for this release.

Did anyone order from Zavvi US and still not get a ship notification? I checked out as a guest...?

I think the zombies are another improvement. They're not as green, and have more of a gray edge. Another example of more muted greens is when the military guy sticks his head into the basement of the apartment complex where the dead are stored. In previous versions his helmet was shiny green, but now it's a more natural, darker green.

I just received confirmation that Diabolik has shipped both the 4K and blu-ray editions of Dawn of the Dead.

i just received my set today and watched the theatrical cut.i have read all the great reviews and impressions that have been posted about it but i was underwhelmed.in fact it was the first time i have watched dawn of the dead and not enjoyed it.there are many technical improvements but the colors just look unnatural to me all through out the film.so much so that it was distracting and i couldn't stop my brain from thinking that looks wrong.even though it is much better than german suspiria release it had the same effect when i was watching it.the german suspiria release has this odd color that had me constantly squinting my eyes and just seemed wrong.the colors just don't look right.i couldn't get myself to stop noticing it and just lose myself in the movie like i am accustomed to.anyone else have the same first impression?
