Crispin Glover's vocal inflections in this are incredible.
Great news... such an awesome movie!
The commentary should prove interesting. The only extra on the old DVD release was the film's trailer.
One of my favorite 80's movies.
This desperately needed a Blu, too. I watched my old MGM DVD a while back and it looked like shit. Luckily I only paid $3 for it at Big Lots.
 I thought Kino didn't do special features! Great news!
I'm a big fan of this movie & have had the old MGM dvd since it was first released. River's Edge still has good replay value. I look forward to getting this & checking out the commentary.
Flat out blind buy for me. This is a Criterion collection level of filmmaking.
How is that a blind buy if you've seen the movie?
But yeah, really excited this is finally arriving on Blu-ray.
Maybe he's legally blind? Show some sensitivity, MS!
Still remember seeing this on VHS for the first time back in there 80's. IIRC, I rented this, Blue Velvet and Star Trek 4 on the same day. As much as I love Lynch, it's River's Edge that really had the profound effect on me. I was 13 at the time and it was one of the first real 'grown up' films that I had seen that really got to me. Made me think about and question things that I had not really thought about before then.
I rewatched about 10 years ago, and it remains an intensely powerful, moving experience.
If you can't already tell, this is a 100% pre-order for me.
Oops sorry. What I meant with that was without knowing the specs and extras. God knows this films deserves all of its bells and whistles. Actually, now that I think about it I have never seen this on home video. It was one of those movies that hit hard in the art house market when it came out and was only showing at theaters that were almost an hour away from me. It compelled many people to drive a couple hours to see it as I recall (I'm one of them). God bless those little theaters! Everyone considered it a classic Oscar snub.
I think I'm confusing this film with the Kevin Bacon river-rafting flick.

They gave the movie itself 2 stars, seriously?
I think I love the soundtrack more than the movie, but I might have to see this again.
:fucked:Yeah, fuck you Matt Hinrichs.
It has an old school Slayer soundtrack, how could anyone not love it !
Crispin Glover is at his weirdest in this movie, even stranger than his 'deadfuck' character in Friday the 13th Part 4. I will be grabbing this as soon I have some more to order with it from Diabollik soon. Hugely underrated movie IMO.
