Probably Carpenter's best film. Good score! Most of those Bottin FX have yet to be topped by modern fx wizards and there fancy shmansy technology, IMO anyway. :) 9.5

Certainly one of my favorite Carpenter films. I agree, BloodMan, great score! Great FX! A true mans man movie, so much so that every character is of the male gender. Maybe just one female would have been a plausable idea. And I'm not talkin' Janet Reno plausable. I'm talkin' Natasha Henstridge plausable. Maybe instead of a 12 man research team, a 10 man 2 women, or 11 man 1 women research team. I'm flexible!!.....

Ah hell with it, it's a great movie, let's just leave it at that. Gave it a 9.

I gave it a ten, possibly my favourite horror movie. It's not just a fantastic horror film, it's a fantastic film, period. All of man's primal fears are covered perfectly here: isolation, claustophobia, fear of the unknown, paranoia, madness, etc. etc. Just perfect! Great photography, great score, great monster, just perfect!

And, might I add, just about the best ending a film has ever had.

One of the very few remakes that can stand on it's own without looking like a hollow sham or a tired retread.Strong cast and terrific effects give it real saying power.A tv remake is in the works (yikes !).A very fine film, still underated.9.

Another 10 here. I know it's been said already, but to date no film has surpassed this one when it comes to animatronics and special make-up effects. Rob Bottin is awesome.

    10. It's by far my favourite John Carpenter movie. Along with Alien probably the best sci-fi horror movie ever made. I can't really find fault with any thing as far as this movie goes.
