This is great news for people who are still region locked, but honestly, I already broke down and grabbed the UK blu -- which looks amazing, has better extras and cost less. I'd like to support Mondo Vision (I own all their other Zulawski releases), but it's going to be tough to justify spending even more money on this one.
Same here. I love to support the independents but this is steep for a double-dip so soon after I bought the Arrow release.
The UK blu from Second Sight has the following exclusives: * The Otherside of the Wall: The Making of Possession * Audio commentary with director Andrzej Zulawski * Audio commentary with co-writer Frederic Tuten * Andrzej Zulawski interview * Repossessed: The film's UK and US reception, the 'video nasties' furore and the US recut * A Divided City: The Berlin locations * The Sounds of Possession: Interview with composer Andrzej Korzynski * Our Friend in the West: Interview with legendary producer Christian Ferry * Basha: Featurette on the artist who created the famed poster for the film. * Theatrical Trailer

That Limited edition packaging looks great, but $65 is crazy talk. I already caved in and purchased the UK Blu a couple of months ago.
Yeah, it definitely looks nice...but it's still quite expensive. If it was a movie that I actually liked more, I might bite. The Soundtrack CD inclusion is tempting though. I believe it was released on CD a few years ago, but it was extremely limited. ...and there are already assholes selling this limited set on ebay as a pre-order for $100
Pre-ordered the LE from Diabolik. This movie is nuts...Sam Neil's performance is superb. I can't wait. Glad I held off on the UK release...this one looks like it will be far superior. Price sucks... but whatever. I think it will be worth it.
I went for the standard release. If I was a huge fan of the movie, the $65 would probably seem worth it.
The inclusion of the soundtrack, the lobby cards, and the booklet. I'd rather have the actual soundtrack (even though I already own the vinyl) than have an interview with the composer talking about it. And I have enough "video nasty" docs/books that I can live without that UK featurette. I don't feel the need to know about the two different cuts...I can see them for myself. Yeah...and the packaging too.
Just got mine, the packaging is REALLY BEAUTIFUL! I'll check out the disc later after work. I finally got my hands on the German bootleg of my bloody valentine's loveless and it sounds amazing, so this morning is dedicated to that!
Yeah kat, got it yesterday or sat and it came media mail! Came perfect and well packaged, which is a miracle these days as almost everything I get has some sort of damage.
Dang...didn't get mine yet, but Diabolik emailed a shipping notification for it. I hope this is worth the price tag. Can't wait!
