    Nocturnal Animals (2016, Tom Ford)
It has been seven years since Tom Ford's directorial debut with the excellent and stylish 'A Single Man' and now for his sophomore effort he presents an even more stylish psychological thriller based on the Austin Wright novel Tony and Susan. In this film Amy Adams (Arrival) plays an art gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband's (Jake Gyllenhaal) novel, a violent thriller that could be interpreted as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale. The film moves effortlessly through the reality and fiction within the story that points back at reality like a warped mirror. This is probably one of the best films of the year and will be hard to top for many movie goers.
