I think at this point complaining that certain specific things is null and void. They've obviously put in everything that they had available to them and have more or less done their best to make up for 28-some-odd years of being shuffled from vault to vault. I think if they had the drill bit kill then they would have definitely would have put it in. Three minutes worth of the wet stuff is already a fuckload so I'm just grateful for that in itself.

well, according to this quote Ryan made:

"Yes, Mike and Harriet getting a drill press through them while making out was filmed. So said Mihalka and one other person. Mihalka talks about the scene in his Terror Trap interview.

    Indeed, thanks, Ryan."

    see... it was filmed.

Errr...maybe Mihalka himself was wrong? I mean, it IS a definite possibility. Remember this movie was hacked to bits, and it's been 28 years. It's possible that he was mistaken. (Maybe they planned to shoot it and never got around to it, and since so much gore was cut out of the film, he may have THOUGHT he shot the scene and the footage was just cut out.) Everything that was cut has more than likely been restored.

But Jesus, that footage looks amazing. Never thought the uncut version would see the light of day.

a picture has surfaced on Terror Trap.
look at pic on the interview with Mihalka....

    http://terrortrap.com/interviews/georgemihalka/02/

there is a picture of Mike & Harriet on top of eachother with a drill bit in their back, and a hand is forcing it in.

George even describes what was cut...
read it. (its toward the bottom of the page)

I'm not saying I'm right, but who are you to say I'm wrong? Nobody's seen the footage. I've read the interview, but even if it was filmed, who's to say that it wasn't included on the new DVD? It hasn't even been released yet.

And you should never judge it by a single still image. For example:

We have a still image here from Friday the 13th, but it was a publicity photo. That scene was never filmed.

You people just need to fucking relax. The DVD hasn't even been released yet and the guy at Shocktillyoudrop was just giving a general overview of the cut footage. He's not gonna post every single frame of the cut scenes. For 3 mins that's a good 4,000+ frames. :)

    Just RELAX, people. Jeez.

No wonder the MPAA had a field day with this film.

Hey Myron Breck the only one acting like a bitch is you and Matt89 we are relaxed. :D I just posted that Ryan from shocktillyoudrop said the scene is not in the movie and from the way they talk about George Mihalka he remembered everything about the movie and all the scenes, especially the gore scenes, and from what he said he remembered filming that scene very well like the others cut from the movie.

It never said "all", it said "contains never-before-seen footage". Completely different meaning altogether.

But what I find odd is that well, if someone had kept all the gore footage, why would one single shot be the only thing missing? I'm starting to believe that shot was never filmed. Anyways, that's just me.

Point is, we're in no position to complain. Look at the work they've done giving the fans what they wanted. We asked for the found footage to be inserted back into the film and we got it.

There is no "complete" version of The Last House on the Left either, but what MGM released was the "most complete" version in existence. They put together what they had found and what was available and existed. Perhaps that's what we're getting with My Bloody Valentine and a single shot that's probably, what? 2 seconds? hardly makes a difference.

    Or three!:banana::banana::banana:
Rue Morgue have claimed that it is in fact over nine minutes like we originally thought.
I wouldn't complain. It's obviously everything they have.
I figure it either wasn't filmed or was in too bad a shape to put back in. We at least get the aftermath which is better than nothing.

I seem to remember my copy having the scene with the two people getting drilled while getting screwed. I read the description of the scene on the terrortrap site, and it's what I remember...Whether or not I remember it from the VHS or from the DVD is another question...Unfortunately I also think I watched it when it was on IFC, so maybe that was where? I dunno...All I know is that I never saw it in theaters, and I saw this scene as described...

Would some of you stop complaining??? Jeez.
We are getting the best DVD with all of the uncut gore scenes that are possible.

The shot of the drillbit that is posted on Terror Trap is from the R-rated cut. It's the aftermath.

The DVD producers (with help from the Director) are giving us the holy grail here and, instead of being grateful, some are still being negative and looking for faults. Incredible.

I'm gonna be there dude!! Me and a few friends that have been frothing at the mouth for this will be at the Bloor Cinema that night. Going to see if I can get the DVD on the 13th and get it signed by George Mihalka that night. I can't wait to see the audiences reaction as those scenes are shown on the big screen for the first time in history.

It's going to be a night to remember.

Amazon.ca had two copies up. They look the same but one is more expensive and the other comes out on the 13th.
