This is great news. I don't mind if they want to take there time either. I could wait a few more months if it means getting it right.

Wow! Just read the news and came right over to this forum to announce it! This is one of the biggest releases ever for me! It is one of my favourite horror films and now, finally we will be bale to see it the way it was meant to be. Not too many films have been screwed around with as much as this one has.

And I definitely believe that all of us here are responsible for it happening. We all rock!! Lion's Gate, no matter what other releases you have screwed up on, this all makes up for it! First a great Monster Squad DVD, and now this! Thank you!!\

And if they have to delay it, it matters not to me, as long as we get it uncut!

I don't think anyone should have a problem with it if it gets delayed. The point is it will be uncut.

Totally irrelevant, but Zombie Dude, I notice that you're from Australia. Apparently there was a really good release of The Deer Hunter that came out there on blu-ray last week. I know it's coded for regions A & B, and I was wondering...would you happen to know anything about it? (Special features, audio, image quality, etc etc.) I'm seriously thinking of ordering it online. Do you know of any good Australian online retailers?

as others have said, (and i agree 100%) i dont care how long it takes them to restore the cut footage, as long as the film is uncut, i will be a happy camper!! :D:banana:

I'm not really familiar with the film, nor do I buy Australian releases online but I'm guessing Ezydvd would be the site to buy it off.
For some reason though it still has information listed as TBC. Here's the link: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/802732

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Another option might be JB HiFi

They're THE big music/video chain here in Australia. Never used them online though so I can't vouch for their reliability in that dept. But the list price is lower than ezydvd, and it claims to be in stock. Good time to buy from us because our dollar is pathetic right now!

Back to topic: My Bloody Valentine uncut!!! Fuck yeah!!!

Is this official from LG though, or just a rumor from one website? I find it a little hard to believe...

It hasn't been officially announced, no. It's from an 'inside source' working on the disk.

A guy from over at the Home Theater Forum has been in talks with a producer on the disc, and has also confirmed it.

Though, he also goes on to say that the uncut version was the producer's intention the entire time and that they've been working on the print for a while now. He says all the talk of no uncut version was just started by Shock-Till-You-Drop not having all the info.

While that COULD be true, the response I got from LG to one of my e-mails made it very clear that there would be no uncut movie on the disc and that the footage would be seperate. So, if in fact LG did intend the entire time to release the uncut version, they didn't really make a whole lot of movement to hand out the correct info until it again was leaked from the very site they claim was giving people bad info in the first place. A simple "yes, the uncut version will be included" would've silence the entire e-mail campaign. If there was "bad information", Lionsgate had a hand in it as well.

Therefore, I am still inclined to believe that the voices of the fans did in fact help this come about.

    To paraphrase the film:

    It happened ONCE...
    (Paramount release...CUT VERSION...no purchase.)

    It happened TWICE...
    (Lionsgate re-release with AFD...CUT VERSION...no purchase.)

Lionsgate is finally doin' it right
    (UNCUT, BABY!!!)

    So it won't happen THRICE!

:D Placed my pre-order today at DeepDiscount.

Now, what I woner is how cleaned up the uncut footage will be? will is be a 'Silent Night..' workprint footage cut in or a 'From Beyond' fully restored deal? Either way i'm in.

  19. If it's a Silent Night type of deal, they should include a message before the movie starts like they did with Silent Night.

Interesting. So the entire time we were mean to be getting an uncut version. I saw two of the emails that got sent back from Lionsgate (which then got posted in this thread) and you'r right, they definitely indicated that there was no intention for an uncut release. I think if anyone stuffed up in giving information it was Lionsgate.
I'd say we can expect something like From Beyond, which I might add was a wonderful restoration. The missing footage is in negative form (not sure if that was the case with Silent Night Deadly Night) which depending on its condition should look quite nice restored.
