My best friend and I were unwillingly dragged to the theater to see Murphy's Romance and afterward agreed the best thing about the movie was Tracie Savage's death scene from Friday the 13th Part 3.

I immediately thought you meant fake movies within real movies and thought of Headless in the movie Bound (which eventually became a real movie).

Also the film they are watching in Demons, whatever that is. I'd watch it

No, like the real movies that appear on tv or movie screens that characters are watching. Like Gremlins has Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, It’s A Wonderful Life and Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

The movie The Last Matinee, which just came out from Vinegar Syndrome's partner label Dark Star takes place in a movie theater during a screening of a real movie called Frankenstein: Day of the Beast. The full movie is actually included on the Blu-ray, but from what I saw of it in The Last Matinee it looks...not good. I don't know that I'll ever watch it, but it's a cool extra feature.

I watched the trailer for Frankenstein: Day of the Beast on Amazon Prime and it looked really, really, really bad. Like.... really bad.
