living doll[1990]: weak imitation of damatos beyond the darkness

    i liked damatos perverse twisted exercise in necrophilia. living doll started out well then seemed to fall apart in the middle. anybody even see this? mondo macabros transfer is great but the movie itself is not worth the price,imo.

    I own the Mondo Macabro DVD. It's a decent film for what it is, and has some good effects by Paul Catling in its favor. The film apparently wasn't even seen too much before its DVD release.

    The superb DVD extras are actually better than the film.

    Even d'amato's film was a remake of sorts IIRC.
    Can't remember where I read it though so I might actually be wrong :)

    See,I knew it.Still not sure where exactly I read it.Probably in a German review for that particular DVD.Or The Book perhaps?:

    Wow, that's pretty cool Crystal. I'd love to check that film out.

    I've always thought about giving Living Doll a shot, but I didn't think the trailer looked all that great so I kept passing this up. I like the idea though.
