High Tension is $7.99 on Best Buy's website, but doesn't say it's available for in store pick up. I'll ride down and see if it's there. If not, I'll just place an order.

Just picked up Bad Lieutenant Blu-Ray for $9.99. It's labeled as $17.99, but rang up less.

So, did they basically lie in their ad about Blair Witch and others coming out Sunday or was there some fine print that I was missing?

Call the customer service department and run everything by them. Tell them they have to honor their ad.

Just came back from Best Buy and all of these were available. I picked up High Tension and Blair Witch. They had tons of BWP but only ~2 of everything else. They wouldn't scan at the register but the cashier was able to get them in by using the Best Buy part numbers.

The shitty BB heer had all of them for sale today, picked up Bad Lieutenant, 2001 Maniacs, High Tension and Deep Blue Sea. Only DBS rang up instantly, they had to code in everything else (although they did come up with the sale prices thankfully).

A couple other things that may or may not be mentioned in ad (I didn't bother looking at it):
    For $7.99 -
    Saw 5
    Trick 'R Treat

Can anyone comment on the A/V of these releases? Did Lionsgate actually put an effort into the transfers?

Called my Best Buy and they said the release dates are subject to change. It does say that in the ad in very small print but I still feel it's bullshit that each store can decide whether it wants to put something that is printed in the damn ad now or two days from now.

I picked up Open Water/2 , BWP and Wonderland.BWP doesn't look any better then my vhs that I can remember and notice.Open Water, I noticed a pixilated scene like one of the sharks ,looked very blocky.I hope they just didn't slap these on to blu without doing a new master.

It wouldn't surprise me, hence my hesitation to pick 'em up.

BWP was shot on very cheap cameras. I wouldn't expect anything better than an upconverted standard definition with that. Same goes for Open Water. I would expect with a lot of the footage of the sharks, it was stock footage and some of it was probably standard def stuff from TV. Even if they did put a lot of effort into these and did new masters, there just isn't much to work with considering the source material.

Have the Blu at home now.
The HI8 footage looks like... HI8 footage. The B&W 16mm footage is very grainy and somewhat soft but overall attractive, definitely an upgrade over the DVD. I picked this up as I never owned a copy of the DVD and seem to have "misplaced" my VHS. Overall, I wouldn't say that it is worth a double-dip if you already own it on DVD unless you are a hardcore fan of the film.
