Reading the synopsis was enough for me. I suspect if I actually saw the whole movie I'd be inconsolable. Yes! I love this one. The gooey makeup effects, some intermittently very effective cinematography, and the whole gritty low-budget charm. Also, enjoy AHP Vol. 2. I hope there's a Vol. 3 soon.

The Plague Dogs is quite tragic and brutal at times, but also a great 80's animated film. Watership Down, which came before it (from the same filmmakers) is really superb as well. John Hurt does the main voice character in both films, along with some other talented "names". Those two, along with The Last Unicorn, Wizards, and maybe a couple of other animated films.... they sadly just don't make them like that anymore. CGI-animation (not that I dislike it) just doesn't give me the same feelings at all.

Record store had a used copy for $12.98 lucked out finding it I guess they also got the rare nightbreed 3 disc set used for $33.98 and hellraiser scarlet box for 45.98 but it both had sold b4 I could get that one. Have theatrical cut DVD and standard scream factory release anyway.
