What did you use to professionally calibrate it? Or did you literally pay a professional to do it for you?

Wish I could but I heard they are expensive. I optimized based on computerbild.de's settings for my (German) LCD.
They have been around since 1996 and continually test HDTV's etc. Not sure if they offer any professional settings for U.S. or Canadian LCDs though.

Adjustments I made for my Toshiba:

    Image: Mode: Standard
    Brightness: 0
    Contrast: 95
    Color: -5
    Sharpness: -2
    Color Temperature: 7
    Panel Brightness: 70
    3D Color Management: Off
    Auto Brightness Sensor: Off
    Dynamic Backlight: On
    Black / White Level: 7
    Gamma: 0
    MPEG noise Reduction: Low
    DNR: Auto
    Resolution+: On (level 3)
    Active vision M100: On
    film stabilization: Smooth

Factory setting looked nice but color and sharpness was way too high.
Looks simply amazing now after the calibration.

After.Life - so-so transfer or just an ugly film, but a good flick.

Black Sheep (2006- UK import). Started looking a bit rough, but got to that "wow" look for most of it. Not as fun a flick as the first viewing, but still amusing and entertaining. I laughed til it hurt first view, second was just a few chuckles.

BMX Bandits. Severin did a great job on this highly entertaining 1980s romp. The colors really pop out at you!

I expected more from a film by Brad Anderson.

Hobo With A Shotgun for me too. I loved the documentary on there, I thought Jason Eisener sitting in the back of the pickup holding a camera while someone held onto him by his shirt was hilarious. A lot of good extras, and I never watch extras.

I listened the commentary with the original fake trailer hobo also. Fun commentary but the original hobo really derailed the thing a couple of times ranting about the mightiness of bears and the importance of bear safety. Then getting after the guys several times about their language and making sure they respect religion. It reminded me of being at work and having a very awkward conversation with a weird old guy and just not being able to be like "okay, well, you have a nice day" and walking away. If that makes sense. Still worth a listen though.

It's not a classic, but was an enjoyable surprise. If you like films such as The Wicker Man, Pet Cemetery, Don't Look Now, etc. you'll probably enjoy this one.

The HD transfer is quite stunning.
