The UK version is cut. Not as much as it used to be but still missing alot of footage.
watching a woman get raped for 40 mins isn't my idea of repeat views.
Same woman isn't good enough for the likes of you? Needs to be a different woman every time for y'ah? Typical.
no woman. I seen this movie was I was like 14 and it really was disturbing. The remake however tones down the rape stuff, but ups the violent revenge.
Then you definitely would not like the sequel to the remake. The whole movie is basically nothing but the girl getting raped, tortured and pissed on.
Bummer. I would've guessed "new cut" meant that finally the UK got the uncut version we freedom lovers have seen for years, guess I was wrong. Nice swag, but not worth the kinda cleaver cuts.
every i spit on your grave, original, remake etc is cut in the UK.
The original is playing on Encore right now. It's strange, the listing on my channel guide describes the remake, but when I selected it the original was playing. Color me surprised, as I've never known this movie to play on movie channels before.
If you are a fan of the series there is a 6-disc set being released in England on October 5th. I'm not familiar with Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment but the price point is good enough to take the risk.
Tempting. I've never gotten the original on Blu-Ray, and I've never seen the direct sequel (Deja Vu) although I've certainly heard enough about it. I want to see it anyway. As for the remake trilogy, I hated the first and third, but really "enjoyed" (quotes, because one doesn't really enjoy ISOYG films unless they're a real sicko) the second one. The actress was drop dead gorgeous, the eventual Eastern Europe setting was a great touch, and her recovery in the tunnels beneath the city really had me engrossed. See what I did there? I said "engrossed", and the original film got its infamous reputation when it was retitled and distributed by Jerry Gross.
"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location." - Go fuck yourselves, Amazon.uk! So tired of this. Not even sure if I'd buy it, especially given their asinine shipping rates, but it really pisses me off that they randomly won't sell me certain movies because bullshit.
edit: Glad to see my complaint about shipping is no longer valid even though I still can't buy this...
What surprises me is that it is hit and miss. Some movies you can have shipped to the U.S. and others your can't. Hard to complain though since our own USPS is so screwed up. I shipped a priority package to Tennessee from California on July 20th. It didn't arrive in Nashville until August 10th and hasn't moved since then. The package cost $13.90 to ship and I could have walked the package there in the time it's already taken. Between Covid and Trump the system is totally screwed right now.
I would be interested if Amazon UK would just ship to me
Other UK releases of the original have been censored, and I don’t see any mention of the remake and its sequels being the unrated cuts either. Cut versions would be a dealbreaker for me.
Not sure where to put this.
New 3 disc set:
Just tried to pre-order but only ships to the US and Canada.
I've not seen the original since the early 90's on VHS and was looking around for a Blu-ray version recently to watch it again. Seems all the UK releases are cut and the rest are all OOP. So this new one looks interesting.
Oh, no international (overseas) shipping? That's unfortunate.
Likely sale is restricted to North America for this set since locked to Region A since the UK has that new Region B locked box set coming out.
I couldn't care less about discs 2&3, so $60 for one disc is a bit much... but why not? Ordered. I guess they caught me in a window of financial irresponsibility.
