As a gay man I'm intrigued by all the straight male posters choosing John Terlesky. He was a definite teen crush of mine after seeing "Chopping Mall." He was very sexy in that which I guess is why I'm surprised to hear straight guys choose him. Usually if they even venture a name it's an androgynous celeb like Johnny Depp or Prince, or an uber-masculine type like Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris or Kurt Russell. Terlesky seems like the handsome, cocky stud who would try to steal your girlfriend. As far as my choice, I always thought Deborah Foreman was cute. And Laura Elena Harring from "Mulholland Drive" and "Silent Night, Deadly Night 3" is absolutely stunning.
Chance,I think my reasoning behind picking John is just that-his confidence.Since we straight posters aren't talking sex,I guess its delving into other attractive qualities in a person in general. I generally befriend pretty cocky people, (am a little myself,if you hadn't noticed),and liked Terlesky's character Mike,because I'd enjoy busting his balls,taking him down a peg if I knew him in real life,as I do with my buds.Plus,from a guy's point of view, he IS nice-looking,and obviously takes care of himself,as I try to. So I guess it boils down to similarities,compatibility. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I watched another (disappointing) Netflix find, The Allnighter,with Susannah Hoffs of the Bangles,which also featured Mr.J. Terlesky himself. He was a bleach-blonde surfer dude,pining over the main female.I kept thinking, 'what a douche',and he looked freakish.So I really think it was the role,and liking Chopping Mall so damned much, (one of my favorites).The same goes with Ryan Merriman, (like his movies).Others like Justin Long and Peter Barton are definitely more androgynous.In fact,Peter is almost "pretty" enough to be a chick.I recall on the DVD commentary the director said he wanted Jason to wreck the prettiest guy's face in the shower kill.But they all seem like they'd be cool to chill with in his own way.
