Just got done watching this movie last night. Kinda reminds me of The Shining, but Shining was much better of course. But I went to the IMBD boards and Amazon and they had notting on it . Oh.. but Netflix did http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?trkid=73&movieid=60023104 It was enjoyable. Not really too many kills its just the serial killer was totaly sicked out and had major split personality problems. Check it out.
Thought this was about Mouth O Madness or a sequel when I checked it. I'll catch it on cable sometime in the future.
Somewhere along the way I acquired a DVD of Hobb's End. It's one of those cheap ones that come in the cardboard sleeve. I'm surprised there's a thread for this. Anyway, finally watched it. The Shining is perhaps a... stretch. It was more like a Lifetime version of The Caller. Two people at a snowy cabin in the woods for 1 hr 50 mins. The guy might be a psycho. He definitely has a split personality and looks like the woman's dead husband. Or is there someone else in the woods? Not really recommended, although there's a scene where the killer is chasing our leading lady through the snowy woods carrying a severed head. Only reason I posted this is because I was shocked there was even a thread. Despite the cover art, there are no chainsaws in the movie...
What a bummer, When I saw the sleeve I was like 'colour me intrigued', but to show a chainsaw so predominantly on the front cover then not feature any chainsaw action in your movie is very very shitty. I'd have been pissed at the end, probably tarnishing my overall feelings on said movie.
I haven't seen the movie but talking of misdirection, the title references Quatermass and the Pit and In the Mouth of Madness and seems to have little in common with either
I doubt the filmmakers realized. It's just supposed to be some middle of nowhere winter town, and after the opening scene, the entire rest of the movie takes place at the cabin.
