Yeah, apparently anyone can use it and it is only on regular (over) priced items.

Ok cool. I think I will stick to the alliance blu rays of the theatrical cuts and not pick up the dvds then, since the unrated commentaries are in the box set

The prices on TCM are awful - so the 30% coupon is worthless. Oh well was worth a shot

This whole thing sounds like the same marketing scheme that other website did, the name escapes me, that had the Bond 007 Blue Ray set for $29.99 and everyone's order got cancelled.

Uhhh...a 1.5 on image quality for the original Halloween transfer and 3/5 for the 35th anniversary? Is this guy out of his fucking mind? The 35th anniversary restoration of Halloween is definitely one of the best blu rays I own. The image is reference quality. The original transfer isn't bad either. I just wish they had used that one to splice the TV scenes into, the difference wouldn't have been as jarring.

Yeah, I'm with Matt on this one. When I first watched the 35th Anniversary transfer, I was honestly blown the fuck away with how it looked. I dont know why they included the 2007 disc with this set, waste of space really. Don't see how anyone would prefer that one over the newer one.

I think both transfers are strong in their own ways, I was blown away when i first saw the original halloween transfer.

I'm looking at thing this and I still can't believe that they were able to pull this off. It's such an amazing set.

Me too...it's personal preference, not what the cinematographer intended.

    The site was Nomorerack.com

That was actually a case of them having priced the item correctly, but not being able to actually get the sets to fulfill any of the orders.

Anyway... got my Halloween set today from Amazon safe and sound.

Interesting that they fucked up the disc label for Zombie's Halloween, labeling it with the region "B" icon on the disc. Unfortunately the disc still played in an "A" player!

I laughed to myself as that was the first disc I put in my player today to see if it was indeed B locked. I never imagined that either Zombie disc would ever be removed from their eco cases. I honestly don't know what I'd do if it was B locked. My player is region-free. Would I exchange a disc that I know I'll never watch to pacify my OCD? We'll never know.

I just switched it with my Halloween disc from the original 2 disc release, same disc, same features and actually matches what the 2nd disc looks like. Works for me.

I'll spare you the quoting. :D

Thanks for that zbinks! I didn't fancy Googling that knowing 90% of results are just going to be shit.

That is actually quite a lot missing! I'm no Halloween fangirl (aside from H20), but there's a lot there I'd at least glance at, if not watch. I've always enjoyed making of's, even if others don't.

Deluxe edition it is then. I will be poor...

    ETA: I missed this:

Could've done without this, TBH. WTF is it exactly? Rob Zombie masturbating for four hours? Fuck...

I remembered today that I had a bunch of credit with Amoeba Music, and when I checked it was a little over $200 worth, so I went tonight and splurged on the box set. While there I also picked up the Halloween 2 30th anniversary blu ray for $7, as well as the Halloween 4 divimax dvd. Then I ordered the Alliance RZ double feature blu ray so I can have the theatrical cuts. I do wish Scream Factory had kept their original art for parts 2 and 3 on the reverse of the sleeves.

Can anyone summarize or is there a good link running down the pros/cons of the 2007 transfer vs the 35th anniversary?

It's going to be a good October!

I was watching Halloween 4 and the audio goes badly out of sync around the 44 minute mark (around when Jamie says, "I have a big dog and it bites!"), and stays that way for ten minutes or so. Is this an issue for anyone else?
