Imagine how much more effective the ending of Halloween would have been, if we never got any sequels. Not knowing anything at all, of where Myers disappeared to, or what happened to him.
So first I have to say that Jason has often (more so in later sequels) been put forth as a supernatural being. He's a dead (rotting) man walking for goodness sake. So I'm not sure what you mean with your point about him. I agree Myers was portrayed as being being pretty human in the first Halloween untill the end where he catches six bullets in the chest and then disappears. These new sequels are riding off that film and it seems natural that they might want to dive more into that supernatural aspect.
Found it. That's why it scared me so much when I was a kid. He was the boogeyman at the end. I couldn't even remember the opening to the movie when we see him as a kid committing murder. I probably saw Halloween first on TV like so many horror movies. And caught it during the middle. When I got back into horror movies I noticed so much that I didn't before. But I'll always say that Halloween should have gone like Carpenter wanted with a different story for each Halloween. That's why I like Halloween 3 so much. I liked it as a kid and still do now.
According to their Facebook banner, Halloween Kills will be streaming on Peacock same day as theatrical.
Unfortunately I might have to see this at home with how things are going over here. At least the option is there, unlike Candyman.
There is a zero percent chance I'm missing seeing Michael Myers on the big screen. But I am glad it's going to stream same day.....hopefully that will thin out the theater crowd opening night
I have kids under 5 who won't be able to be vaccinated for who knows how long. So I'm staying home until that can happen and will be watching this on Peacock. If I didn't have kids I would go see everything currently out in the theaters, but I'm not gonna risk them so I can go see a few movies.
NEW MICHAEL MYERS FLICK ON THE BIG SCREEN TONIGHT Help my fuck I'm excited. I've avoided further trailers and spoilers. But I'm expecting a fucking awesome slasher. We all know Mike is surviving as well as Laurie.......but it should be a fun ride.
He's back! I can't wait to read all your reviews. I'm not sure about seeing this one at the cinema yet - actually I can - I'll just triple-mask it since everyone in my city seem pretty lax on mask wearing.
According to the official social media pages, this will be available on Peacock TONIGHT! Doesn't give an exact time though.
Yeah I'm hoping to watch either tonight or tomorrow, depending on when it drops. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone updates when they see it pop up. Never used Peacock before but apparently it's free?
I believe you have to go with one of the paid plans ($4.99 with ads or $9.99 for ad free) to watch. In most cases, the ads are more for TV shows than movies, and they'll just show a couple ads before the movie starts similar to Hulu.
Was not a fan. Near the bottom of the series for me. Still excited to see how they wrap it up with Halloween Ends because of how much I liked the 2018 film, but nothing much worked here except for the kills. Guess that's why they went with that awkward title.
Michael does kill, but the movie is half over by the time we get to the main characters and the movie starts to progress anywhere. Lots of corny Loomis speeches from just about everyone in the movie. Best parts were the 1978 flashback and the finale. I preferred the ending in the screenplay, where Spoiler after Michael kills Karen, her cellphone rings. Cut to Laurie at the hospital on the other end of the line, when Michael answers and she hears his heavy breathing, letting her know he got Karen and setting up for Halloween Ends.
I quite enjoyed this one. I think it subverted expectations while still being an interesting film and entry in the franchise. It might suffer a little from being the middle entry of a trilogy, but hopefully Halloween Ends brings it all together in a satisfying conclusion. Part of me wonders whether there'll be a extended or slightly different cut when it releases physically. Maybe the extended ending CPT HOOK mentioned would be part of that. Still really enjoyed myself with this one and look forward to giving another go around soon.
