Every weekend (Friday - Sunday) I have a movie marathon... usually with some sort of theme. This weekend... starting tomorrow... I would like to have a Gore-Fest weekend. Unfortunately my memory is not as great as it could be and trying to think of my collection which movies will fit this bill all I am coming up with is the Saw movies and the Hostel movies.

I have a decent sized collection of horror movies (just over 600 titles)... and I would love some help picking out some of the goriest movies to watch this weekend. So I was wondering what is your favorite gore-fest movies... maybe I will have it in my collection to watch this weekend. Maybe some forgotten treasures I haven't watched in years.

For any of you who would like to help me out and scan my collection (over 1,700 titles including all genres) or just curios about my collection you can see it here..

Any help picking out some truly gory movies for this weekend is much appreciated.

Depends if you are looking for realistic, or over the top gore. Some good picks are:

    Cannibal Holocaust
    The Beyond
    Cat in the Brain
    City of the Living Dead
    Dawn of the Dead (78)
    Day of the Dead

On the over the top front:
    Bad Taste
    Dead Alive
    Riki-Oh
    Ichi the Killer

You also can't go wrong with any of the Re-Animator films, preferably the first one.

The Guinea Pig collection should do just fine.

The Evil Dead, Zombie, House By the Cemetery and Maniac are all pretty gory. How about the uncut version of My Bloody Valentine? That's now got some good gore in it.

I always like the Final Destintaion series, fun flicks with great gore effects that are perfect for gatherings, esp. if everyone has seen before. While it's cool for some to get lost in the film, it's not cool for most too.

In that same vein, the earlier 'Dark Castle' films like House on Haunted Hill and Death Ship also have some top-notch gore IMO, and a good party-vibe.

Is it Death Ship or Ghost Ship? Cause Death Ship is old school (not that there's anything wrong with old school). I've always been a fan of Col. Trautman, just couldn't figure out why he kept showing up in Lifetime Movies.

The Beyond, Zombie, City of the Living Dead, Buio Omega (Beyond the Darkness), Deadly Spawn, Nightmare (in a Damaged Brain), Pieces, Cat in the Brain (just about the goriest of all these titles), High Tension, Rabid Grannies (uncut version, screw that Troma DVD).....

...Oh, and Bat Pussy. May not be gory, per say, but it'll fuck your mind up and turn you off sex altogether.

I should have known you weren't just making that up! It never ceases to amaze me how many truly weird movies are still out there waiting for me to find out about...

    The horror... the horror...

"Pity the poor wretch who desires masturbation, but rents Bat Pussy." -Jean Paul Sartre

The tagline for it should be "You can't un-watch it."

Most of these mentioned I don't have... but thanks for the suggestions! :)

I just popped in the first movie. Starting with one from when I was a teenager. Hellrasier.

It's certainly dated by today's standards but it's well worth it to check out Blood Feast, imo, seeing as how it was the first of it's kind. If you enjoy it then Two Thousand Maniacs! would be a good bet for your next purchase as well. (There is a third film completing the unofficial trilogy, Color Me Blood Red, but it's not nearly as entertaining as the first two, quite boring imo...)
I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned À l'intérieur (Inside) yet! This was one awesome movie and there is tons of well done gore and violence! I recommend this one as much as I recommend Blood Feast although for different reasons. See this one! (Although, I should add, I lent this one to a friend of mine who I thought would find it amusing and he said that he was disgusted with himself for watching the whole thing... go figure...)
If you're looking for really over the top stuff (almost to the point of being comedic), outside of what's already been mentioned, you might track down one of the Violent Shit movies, I recommend going with the first, or something like Zombie 90: Extreme Pestilence. These movies do become extremely redundant with their drawn out gore scenes though.

The previously mentioned are all staple suggestions, and if you are into Underground Horror you could check out Fetus and Bone Sickness from Morbid Vision Films. They are pretty good gore affairs.
Didn't go back and check but another that came to mind was
    Anthrophagus
Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror
    Cannibal Ferox
    Laid to Rest
