    From Blu-Ray.com...

Finally! Easily my most anticipated Blu release of this year.

I really wish they would've stuck with the original poster art, though. No Joe Pesci on the front? RiDICKulous...

Yeah, really strange how there's no Pesci on the front. Didn't he win an Oscar for this? Either way, I'll be buying it. This film is a fucking masterpiece.

Good news (for the new transfer). The new cover sucks balls though.

Triple-dip on blu-ray for me. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the 20th anniversary digibook or not.

This REALLY needed a decent release, too. The current Blu looks like shit. I didn't even bother picking it up when I saw it in the $5 bins over the years.

Now I can finally retire my SE DVD.

    Same here...

Warner had better get the transfer right this time around, since they already screwed up the cover.

I'm a Scorsese guy in general. But this is one of my absolute favorite films. It's about time it got the transfer it deserves, 4k scan and lossless audio. This is the rare instance where I'm pre-ordering despite a less-than-spectacular price. I want this as soon as it comes out. The old Blu-rays can go get their f_____g shine boxes!

Me too. Glad I held out for this anniversary edition.

This should be added as a free promo poster with the release:

You can almost say the same thing about any movie that gets re-released with a new transfer these days. PQ is what it's all about - if that gets the shaft there's really no point in upgrading. Apparently Warner has seen the light and decided to give this one the proper treatment.

Finally! The packaging looks similar to their release of Once Upon a Time in America (another amazing gangster film btw for those who haven't see it - this and GoodFellas are probably my two favorites.) definitely picking this up. Totally worth double-dipping.

I always felt the movie kinda took a nose dive after Pesci got wacked, especially when Liotta is being chased by the Helicopter and makin meatballs and all that.

I dare to say that Casino '95 edges it out slightly, imo...but Goodfellas is one of my favs.;)

That's interesting. Maybe I should give CASINO another chance: when I walked out of the theater I thought, Well, it sure wasn't GOODFELLAS.

I love that whole coked-up freak-out section of the film, especially the camera movement and musical selection. I felt that it was so different from the rest of the film because Henry's world (the whole "Family's" world, actually) had changed so much. The younger generation was in charge, cocaine was huge, and the romanticism of old school mafioso kind of wore off.

But I'll definitely try to give CASINO another chance (I did buy it on DVD but never watched it, just in case this exact moment happened).

I find Goodfellas superior but love Casino as well - both great movies

Casino and Goodfellas are just about equal, IMO. I would hate to have to choose a favorite...

Casino is good, but it's definitely no Goodfellas.
