Same VC-1 encode as before, according to a poster on Blu-ray.com the video files on both discs are identical in size.

I'm out on this set unless it's on Amazon's Christmas discount thing at under $50 or something. Just too many small problems that shouldn't be. The set should be perfect and the Friday the 13th collection to get. It looks ok I guess in the video but I expected more. The booklet text from the other Friday the 13th book and the missing versions of movies they already released really make this not the set to get. Unless you need Blu-ray versions of a few movies now.

Missing versions? plural? It is only missing the uncut version of JGTH. It sucks that it is not there but the rest of the set is great for me, no other complaints here. Other than JTGH it is exactly what I expected.

I agree. I will also be waiting for it to go under $50 as a "Deal of the Day" sale item.

Same here. I'll buy it eventually when the price comes down, but it hardly sounds worth $90 right now.

I''ll bet it will be either an Amazon "Deal of the Day" or Black Friday item within 3-6 months.

Since Best Buy released this set early, does anyone know if they also released the crystal lake memories documentary early too? Wouldn't mind having both before Friday.

It's got an 8-digit sku (21927211) on bestbuy.com which apparently means it will be available online only.

MIKEY,can you post on how the sleeves are, like if they are coated to non scratch or just regular cardboard.

I'll let you guys know as soon as I get home. Haven't had a chance to open it yet. Just checked Best Buy real quick for the hell of it on my lunch break.

Ok, just checked it real quick. The pages are regular cardboard with no gloss to them, but the inside of the sleeves where the discs slide in and out is glossy. What I find hilarious is that the killer extras disc is literally the same exact disc from the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set, disc art and all. They didn't even bother to match the disc art for that like they did with the parts 1 to 3 blu-rays.

I really considered picking this up, but I just can't spend $100 on this. Maybe if all of the films were given their own BD50 discs.

well, we all know for sure that these are basically the deluxe versions upgraded, I can tell by the green tint on Jason lives where he's chained to the rock underwater shot. wasn't that originally blue tinted??

    Part VII looks amazing!

Part VI and VIII... not so much. This was my observation but, the daytime shots in VI looked great but the nighttimes did not. No doubt the green tint is the reason why. Though it sure makes the paintball scene stick out.
