Probably just a re-release that excludes the DVD copy.

That would be my guess also. Studios do this quite often.

I didn't see anything wrong with the last one.

    Zero extras.

I'm thinking that this will be some kind of SE. Why would they re-release the same thing for the third time?

The SRP of the new one coming out is under $15, so I seriously doubt it. Most likely, it's just the same Blu-ray (minus the extra DVD) and new artwork.

The Robocop 4k Blu was only $7.99, so there's always hope.

The Robocop 4k Blu had an SRP of $19.99

$7.99 is just the price some retailers were selling it for.

Would love to see a 4k remaster but I doubt it'll happen. Would be nice to have all the extras from the Laserdisc and DVD though.

Do you think that, with a release date so close, they could go back and do a 4K if it weren't done already? I have a feeling they will release this as-is and then a 4K down the road. This is a title that most of us will continue to buy.

I think the current transfer looks just fine. Would've been great if Shout Factory got ahold of this one, since MGM owns it.

With the release still 3 months away I can't see why MGM couldn't pull it and do it justice by going all out and giving the fans what they deserve instead of just repackaging a bare bones disc and expecting folks to keep double dipping!!!

That said the current disc looks and sounds great but would appreciate all the preexisting extras.

Be nice if they postponed it till later in the year and gave it a 4k rescan ;)

I'm fine with them using the same transfer, just port over the old extras. Is that asking too much, MGM?

    Fucking lazy assholes...

With the aspect ratio they do that a lot, but I rarely see them turn out inaccurate on the SRP. That's usually something basic they get direct from the studio/distributor.
