    Agreed. Cut/Uncut in this case is NOT a deal-breaker. It's not like we're getting extra blood/violence of Kersey blowing away baddies. The extra rape stuff, I can do without.

    I don't see how any fan could pass on having these three movies finally in widescreen in decent prints, over not seeing extra rape. :nervous:

    I know I've already pre-ordered all three. Can't wait to add them to my collection and ditch the previous full-screen MGM discs.

    any word on the supplements? original post stated there might be some....

    i've only seen the films once each, when i made a point of watching them a few years back. enjoyed the first 4, absolutely. And i agree that part 3 was an off-the-wall blast. part 5 jumped the shark though, reminded me of the simpsons spoof "Ugh...I wish I was dead!" i'd buy these if the price was right. i'd certainly like the original, though.

    It's not about getting some extra rape. It's about seeing the film the way it was intended. There is something offputting about watching films that are "cut". Add to that, DW2 is a revenge flick. The rape is supposed to be unsettling and unrelenting. It's the justification for Bronson's killing spree. As with any great "revenge film", the more horrific the setup the sweeter the revenge.

    Oh snap! :spit: I thought it was the uncut version when I watched it on instant Netflix. It didn't look bad in HD, fingers crossed this is the same version coming out on blu. It was brutal.

    I'm pretty sure one of these is where my custom dvd originated, and it still looks very nice down-graded to standard (and then up-converted back to HD, almost:D).

    Received the Death Wish II Blu-Ray today and it's the cut R-rated version.


    Fuckin' BOOOOOOO MGM.

    Nice transfer though and region free :)

    Super fuckin' weak on MGM's part. What's the point of putting the uncut version of DW II on MGM HD and Amazon Instant, but forcing the edited version on buyers of the blu-ray? It makes no sense...:fire::bs::fuck:

    yeah , good quality print too.. this is exactly the same version HBO showed in the summer of 83... so this is the only version i ever knew. until i rented it on video in summe rof 87 and right away noticed the cuts....

    It seems like virtually every non-US DVD of DEATH WISH 2 is uncut. I think at this point I will hold out for an uncut Blu-ray, but I would still love to hear testimonials about specific DVDs of this film and their relative merits.

    Exactly right. Seems like sheer laziness on MGM's part. Similar to the Vault of Horror fiasco from a few years back.

    I've canceled my pre-order. (Still getting 3 & 4 though :D). Fingers crossed for an uncut foreign BD sometime soon.
