It's pretty damn expensive, though.
That's way to expensive for my taste. I think it's cheaper to get them seperately on R2.
arent these being released seperately R1 by Kino anyways?
Is the official site. Unfortunatly there is no special features listed for the sequels.
I have given Miike 3 chances, with Audition, Ichi the Killer and Visitor Q. I have thought that they all sucked, though for some strange reason, his stuff is like watching a car wreck, you can't turn away!
Watched the final one on Sundance and thought it was a THX-1138/Terminator clone.
Okay, though, as said earlier in the post, I have watched 3 of the man's films and was not impressed. Unfortunately, I saw Dead or Alive for rental and picked it up. This film SUCKS!! It is VERY BORING! I scanned to the action scenes, which were fairly cool, but most of the film is talky, which I didn't expect. And the Ending!!! What the HELL was that??? What a piece of garbage! Miike SUCKS! I know some of his stuff, just doesn't translate well, especially Visitor Q!! Audition is the only film with a good story, though that one can be slow too, and the ending is TOO twisted even for me!
The ending of Dead or Alive is a metaphor for the characters worlds coming to an end. The cop no longer has his family, the gangster dude's entire crew is gone, his lil bro too. Its just a visual interpretation of their downfalls. Thats how I see it anyway and it makes sense to me.
Visitor Q is all about family. The suckling shows that they are a family again and that the mother figure is the glue that holds them together. The son being absent sorta means that his lifes path is different and that he doesn't want to belong to the family anymore. (who would want to belong to that family anyway)
All 3 parts fuckin blew. I tried to watch part 1 and 2 and it stunk. part 3 I just did not bother. Sent them all back to netflix.
