Pretty cool trailer. Even more interested now.
Looks good! I wish there were a few more actual Stephen King adaptations but hopefully they'll do more in the future if it's successful.
I will be on the look out for the marble ashtray!!!!
I'll pass on watching the trailer. But it's good that it will be out right before October. Hopefully, some channel will put the other movies up to watch as well.
There is a Creepshow #0 comic from Heavy Metal but it is sold out. I hope there will be a reprint when the show comes out. I believe the comic was limited to 1000. But all were signed I think.
Hot damn, that looks fun. Cannot wait to binge this in October.
First episode is now available!
Anyone watched it yet? How long is each episode?
It's similar to FOX's Night Visions, where there are two segments in one 45 minute episode.
I'm saving it for the evening. I don't like watching stuff like that in the middle of the day.
I watched the first episode. It was pretty good. The first story (based on a Stephen King short story) is better than the second. The intro is really cool. I think the show overall might be kinda hit or miss, but most anthologies are. Overall, I feel it’s quality show so far.
I dug. I also agree the first episode was a lot better than the 2nd. Lot of fun so far!
I wasn't especially into the premiere of Creepshow, but it's anthology horror, so who knows what the coming weeks will bring? I'll be seeing it through to the end.
The first story "Gray Matter" was definitely better than the second. The cast is great and the creature effects are impressive (Greg Nicotero directed, so I'd expect nothing less). That said, the pay-off didn't work for me. It felt like the episode just stopped, like they hit the 22-minute mark and ran out of time allotted. Hopefully they work on their twist endings, because I love my anthologies to have those macabre Tales From The Crypt / Darkside twist endings.
The second story "The House Of The Head" really didn't leave an impression at all. There was a dollhouse and weird things happen. This one also fumbled the twist ending. I guess it's not even really a twist ending, it's just what naturally happens next.
These are definitely an improvement over Creepshow III, however I would say they lean closer to that than Creepshow and Creepshow 2. I do love that they tried to recreate the infamous puppet from the first movie and the poster though! You don't see that too often these days.
I enjoyed it enough. It's well made, and not a huge time investment. One impression I got from the second story is it reminded me a bit of King's short novel The Sun Dog. I wondered if that's why it was included.
Not a fan of either story to be honest, but dollhouse one was bad, I will watch the others, hope the quality improves.
Wife and I watched it tonight and highly enjoyed both segments. My wife is into doll houses, so that segment was really fun for her. I like the easter eggs in both segments. Eagerly awaiting episode 2!
"The Companion", story from episode 4, is the best one so far.
Cool looking killer scarecrow and great practical effects.
This one really felt like it could have been part of Creepshow 1 or 2.
I also liked "All Hallows Eve", from episode 3.
When the show is done, I'm going to splice together the best 4 or 5 stories, into a movie.
You have a way of recording from Shudder?
No, but I download a torrents of the episodes.
I'm only up to Episode 3, which I thought both stories were the strongest so far. The only problem with both of them is that they seemed a little rushed; like there was more story than what they could tell in 20 minutes.
