Are there really only about 20 left? Fuck, with shipping this is over $45 to Canada.

I don't know if I can justify that.

    Ugh so tempting though!!!!

Edit: So it seems like it's now just available for pre-order. It no longer mentions any quantity next to it. Does anybody know how many they're printing?

I got mine right after the announcement and it said there was only 35 left. There's NO WAY it went that fast. I have to imagine it will be available later... there's no way they didn't make at least 1000 to start after springing for all those bells whistles and a 4K scan. That would be insanity.

It worked though: I panicked and pre-ordered! :D

I pre-ordered mine about 15 minutes ago, no problems. :) This sounds like it will be an awesome release, I've always loved this film.

I don't think they ever specified how many copies were being produced. I'm not sure what the relevance of the "quantity left" indicator was, but I'm pretty sure it was not related to the overall production quantity.

I would really like to have this one, but I'm truly getting sick of $30+ price points. I know it's expensive to restore these films, and their popular appeal is limited. None of that factors into my emotional reaction, which is FUNK THIS!

    This.

Although, of course, while I thought Arrow would be a cheaper alternative to Synapse's now OOS Tenebre BR/DVD/CD set of Tenebre... Well, remarkably, it's only just as Synapse is OOS that Arrow's region 0 Tenebre is OOP. So, now, I'm going to have to pay over $30 (unless eBay can beat that) for the potentially inferior remaster because I didn't move on Synapse's set.

Two at once, are basically gone from my grasp... I could kind of explode when I think about it.

Depends on the film and the quality of the release. Raw transfer dumped on disc? Yeah, that sucks. 4K restoration of a film I love with commentaries, and booklets and the "whole experience"? This I don't mind so much.

    Blu-Ray is just too cutthroat.

    Tell me it isn't.

Totally the case. It is definitely more niche to a smaller yet still rabid base. More popular than laser disc though. I am not feeling good about the future of the physical format. 4K will get even less people buying in as discussed in other threads around here. I would bet money on that.

I will most likely double dip for Blue Sunshine though.

Blu ray separates the men from the boys. It's not for the faint-hearted.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that Blu Ray, for lack of a better word, is good. Blu Ray is right, Blu Ray works. Blu Ray clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Blu Ray, in all of its forms; Region A, Region B, All Region has marked the upward surge of mankind. And Blu Ray, you mark my words, will not only save HorrorDVDs.com, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much.

    2 words for you, buddy:

    Twilight Time.

Even if you had the money for something like their release of The Blob remake- you have to know about it right away because they sell out in like 4, 5 days. Where's the evolutionary spirit in that deal?

Come on, DVD fan 9, if you aren't excited about that Blu, you're not human.

Just ordered mine. Looks like it will be really good. It will display well on shelf. Will keep my Synapse version too.
