Does anyone know of any plans to release this on R1? I used to watch this religiously growing up and it is still one of my favorite 80's movies of all time. I know it's available R2, but I don't have a region-free player.

Yeah I don't think they have any plans on releasing this in R1 anytime soon. I have the R2 Dragon release, and yeah...it's in need of a decent release. (Although I don't really like the movie much...)

This was the first movie I ever saw which was Unrated or rated X for violence alone. I enjoyed it, sitting alone in the basement in utter astonishment at 9.

I still have yet to see a Herschell Gordon Lewis film, or have the desire to see one.

What the fuck was I doing watching this?

The R2 Dragon DVD looks absolutely fantastic. It's 16x9 anamorphic and the bit rate is optimized using dual-layer.

Unless there is eventually a R1 disc with bonus features, I doubt that I would even rebuy it.

Agreed. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Blood Diner but the Image quality is excellent. Definitely a keeper.

I've been wondering this, too. There's a guy on eBay selling obvious bootlegs of it for a few weeks which I refuse to buy. May just spring for that R2 Dragon import and retire the old VHS.

At least check out 2000 Maniacs, it's pretty fucking great. The rest I've seen has been just eh.
