i was looking for friday the 13th the series but they aren't carrting it in stores so i was about to get this and pathology then i noticed it didn't say unrated so i looked at the back and it says r-rated. so had to go to best buy to get the unrated dvd as well as friday the 13th season 1
I'm surprised that Best Buy had it in the store. Their online price was only $14.99. I pre-ordered one online and had them deliver it to my local store just in case they weren't stocking it. They had the best price of anyone online and I had a rewards certificate as well, so that brought it down to $9.99 for me. I'm picking it up after work.
Thanks for the heads up. I was about to go out there to get it. Its funny how Walmart will allow some unrated discs but not others. I'm guessing it's due to the nudity in the film (haven't seen the film but the trailer leads me to believe such)? The nudity bad, violence ok policy strikes again!
so i guess when walmart gets in feast II sloppy seconds on oct 7th it will more than likely rated version not unrated pulse 2 comes out next week but that is only r rated no unrated version i am aware of ever since walmart pulled teeth and inside they are weary of dimension extreme titles diary of the dead they got night of the living dead 40th anniversary didn't carry triloquist didn't carry steel trap didn't carry rogue they did get the unrated version of this killing gene unrated they also carried wizard of gore edited r-rated dvd mother of tears edited r-rated dvd
Very excited to see this one. I don't normally shop at walmart, so I don't have to worry about getting the R rated cut. With gas being the way it is and ordering online as easy as it is, I don't understand why you wouldn't just buy online exclusively. Oh well.
Unless you live in an uber-small town where it's literally the only option, there's no excuse for shopping at Wal-Mart.
Rated or unrated, this movie is still shitty. Argento's worst IMO, but then again i still haven't seen The Card Player or Phantom Of The Opera.
I wish I'd have pre-ordered it somewhere when the price was lower. Wal-mart here didn't carry it. Oh wells, I guess I'll try to pick it up at a secondspin.com 20% off/free shipping sale in the future. Those discs are always as good as new anyways.
putting in the DVD of MOTHER OF TEARS, i was expecting the worst, fully prepared to hate this movie, and of course Asia Argento. what a surprise, i liked it!! IMO, better than Phantom, Do you like Hitchcock, and The Card Player, as well as Pelts. And Asia gave a more subtle performance that didn't bother me the way she usually does. Some good gore and decent music. It's nowhere near Suspiria, or even Opera, but Argento's done worse, so this must be considered some sort of success.
Is any one else having trouble finding this movie in stores in Canada? Every place I went to today didn't carry it, and the places I asked to see if they had any stock said the release date wasn't until Oct. 14th in their computer systems...
Okay, I'm glad I went in with low expectations, because I actually really enjoyed the film. It has problems, like the acting by the woman who plays the Mother and I think it needed to be longer and of a grander scale, but all in all, I liked it and thought it was the best Argento film in years!
