I watched Troll 2 for the first time last week and it really isn't that bad! Not bad enough to be called the worst movie ever made anyway!

Great review. I'd love to see Fragasso's face during those moments.

This came to my city's film fest last year, but I was busy filming and couldn't make it. I shed several tears over that. Glad to see it's been picked up, though, and we should be legitimately seeing it on home video sometime soon after a theatrical run proper. It's been fascinating to see the film grow in such grassroots stature so quickly over the last five odd years or so. It's really becoming a modern day successor to Rocky Horror. Long live Grandpa Seth!

It's coming to Seattle this weekend--the first weekend I am out of town in a couple months, of course. But here's hoping it sticks around for a while. There's an ad and a review in the recent issue of our local weekly, The Stranger. Pretty intriguing review, too.

Just bought my ticket for this Saturday's late-nite screening! The theater serves food & booze during the show, too, and there's a screening of Troll 2 afterwards! :joshua: :troll:

At intermission now. Ordered at stout float and the creme brûlée. This is fun as hell, if only a bit repetitive. Can't wait for troll 2, though.

Awesome, buddy! Envious! It screened in my city for a film fest last year but I was busy filming a flick and had to miss it at the last minute. It seems like this movie will perpetually stay in theaters forever, so I regret the decision more and more each day. Would love to see the original on the big screen though, I'll bet the audience would just go nuts.

Hey man, yes, it was a good time. Lots of Troll 2 fans in the audience.

Best Worst Movie is really about George Hardy (the dad), and how much of a nice guy he is. He's the definition of affable. He takes all the praise and laughter for Troll 2 completely at face value and doesn't worry about sarcasm.

Yet, the documentary is, as that earlier review stated, one-note. It's a fun, fun time, but it doesn't go anywhere. I guess that's fine--we're talking about Troll 2 here--but it is repetitive. The doc hints at an awful lot about the individuals involved, but stays very close to the surface. Aside from a few players (the director, who ebbs and flows between anger and bashful pride), most of the cast is happy to talk about their experiences and seem genuinely pleased with the phenomenon. Very little is explored beyond that (why, if George is such a great guy, did he get a divorce, especially if his wife stills loves him so much?), and the mother, the creepy store owner, and even Grandpa (who states that he's "wasted" his life) get little screen time. Although, the store owner practically steals the show (and I won't spoil beyond that). I expect it's because these personalities would threaten to ruin the overall positive vibe that shines clearly throughout, and in no way is this documentary's goal to be investigative. It's a celebration of all things Nilbog! On that level, it definitely succeeds. Fans will eat it up as it's happily preaching to the choir, and newcomers will likely have to see the original after glimpses into some of the more bizarre scenes (out of context, Troll 2 is even crazier). I wish there had been more about the making of Troll 2, but the recreation of key scenes is a gas, gas, gas.

Afterward, I ordered another beer or two and stuck around for Troll 2. So good to see it on a big screen and with devotees. Plenty of laughs and head-shaking. How did this film ever get made? I still don't know, but I'm glad it did.
