The Crazies and Dead Snow were both pretty good, but by far my favourite was Piranha 3D. Such a fun gore filled movie and one of the few times that I wanted to see it again right after! Can't wait for it to hit Blu.
For me it was a toss up between [Rec]2 and The Human Centipede but I voted for The Human Centipede. btw, Dead Snow is not a 2010 movie, it's from 2009.
I've only seen these from the list: A Serbian Film A Nightmare on Elm Street The Crazies The Descent: Part 2 Daybreakers Dead Snow So far it's a toss up between Dead Snow and The Crazies (The Descent2 would be up there if it wasn't for the retched ending). But I haven't seen The Wolfman, Splice, Rec 2, Piranha 3D, Frozen or Burning Bright yet. They seem like ones that have a chance to be favourites. I also saw Survival of the Dead and enjoyed it enough that I bought it on DVD the day it came out.
Don't even bother!! It is on On Demand in HD for free on Comcast this month and it wasn't even worth that price!!
Well since I rarely go to the theater anymore I've only seen these four from the list: The Crazies Dead Snow The Descent Part 2 The Wolfman I'd definitely say I found The Crazies to be the best of the group. That said I'm eagerly awaiting the BD releases of the other films on the list to check them out. I'm really anticipating Rec 2. I suspect Magnolia will be putting that out shortly. I hope Sony gets their act together and releases the first Rec at that time.
I'm dying to see A Serbian Film, The Loved Ones and The Human Centipede: First Sequence but they've not been available to me yet. I've seen eight films from the list and I added an other, The Sentiment of the Flesh which I recently saw at the Montreal World Film Festival. Would say my top from the list is Frozen despite its problem. Also had lots of fun with Piranha 3D and Cabin Fever 2.
As a movie I enjoyed watching Piranha 3D more, but the gothic, Hammer-eque atmosphere of The Wolfman is more in keeping with what I personally look for in a horror film. I can't NOT vote for it. I wish horror movies like this were more the rule today rather than the exception.
I wanted to love this movie but couldnt get past the bad script that even the good actors couldnt work with- it was more boring then fun to me which really sucked cuz I am a huge fan of the original. But I did like the atmosphere and look of the movie- too bad it was wasted
Well, if you're going to get picky, the original's script wasn't all that much to write home about either. It's primarily the atmosphere and make-up effects that made it great.
