There have been a few EXORCIST clones over the years...which is your favorite?
The Antichrist because I'm a sticking pot of shit.
Haven't seen a couple of these, but Abby starring William Marshall from Blacula is one that I've always enjoyed very much. Still hoping for an official dvd release, my bootleg is barely watchable.
House of Exorcism is the worst from this list. Being a big fan of Lisa and the Devil, I find this one painful to sit through.
I always liked AUDREY ROSE because it managed to scare me as a kid.
I've only seen Beyond the Door, which I voted for, and The Antichrist (aka The Tempter).
Abby for me...got a real kick out of that flick.
Fuck House of Exorcism though...it's completely butchery of one of Bava's best films.
Beyond the Door
Beyond the Door, and an honorable mention to Repossessed
"Possessed", for Timothy Dalton.
Since the list is lacking the film... "Seytan", for the medical test with the jackhammers.
I really love/hate the theme song for TEENAGE EXORCIST. It just gets stuck in my head and stays there for a long, long time.....:fuck:
I actually like most on that list but voted for The Eerie Midnight Horror Show. There was more sex in that one.
TURKISH EXORCIST. That movie had me rolling. That and THE KILLING OF SATAN make cry from laughter.
Can't believe there's not a mention of Amytiville II: The Posession. I'll go with Beyond the Door for now. But a possessed Sonny with a shotgun scared the hell out me as a kid and still does to this day. I'm almost 37 now
Moderator: Can this be added to the poll?
BTD, by far!
The AntiChrist. It's the only one of the list I've seen.
Beyond The Door is on my wishlist.
There's no "other" option,if there was I'd vote for Curtis Harrington's RUBY (1977) with Piper Laurie ,Stuart Whitman and Janit Baldwin.Though the producers tried to sell it as more of a CARRIE knock off it is really a bit more like THE EXCORCIST,with it's possessed ,autistic teenage girl plotline .The ghost story elements and the 50's setting (most of the film takes place around a drive-in in the early 50's) give it a feeling all it's own.Good cast (especially Laurie) and nice direction.Wish VCI would do a new 16/9 enhanced version of this.
